Next time I am in Malaysia I'll procure seeds. 😇

2019-01-30 04:38:32 UTC

"Suspensories" is the underwear. I kept thinking "suspenders"

2019-01-30 04:38:42 UTC

Nice!

2019-01-30 04:39:22 UTC

Eh honestly I want something studied and approved by the FDA, I'm not super willing to risk 18 years of financial responsibility on what amounts to a home remedy

2019-01-30 04:39:30 UTC

Here is some info on the different methods, although very basic https://www.livescience.com/54105-which-male-birth-control-works.html

2019-01-30 04:39:41 UTC

Yeah, I hear you

2019-01-30 04:40:17 UTC

I trust good science more than the FDA. The government is swayed by politics. Science is science.

2019-01-30 04:40:56 UTC

Wouldn't the government jump at the chance to reduce accidental children and thus state dependence?

2019-01-30 04:41:15 UTC

I trust science too, but there haven't been that many studies done on these methods, although they seem to work if you're doing them consistently

2019-01-30 04:43:00 UTC

I do not think the government jumps on anything because it is good. They do it because the politicians decided it is in their personal best interest.

2019-01-30 04:44:22 UTC

Otherwise, explain to me why it is illegal to cut hair without a license in some states.

2019-01-30 04:44:34 UTC

Well, I understand being ginger about methods that seem too "home-remedy-ey"

2019-01-30 04:44:49 UTC

Are you serious? What states?

2019-01-30 04:46:45 UTC

Oooh, it's fine if you do it for free

2019-01-30 04:47:01 UTC

There are raids. People get arrested. It benefits no one but the industry that lobbied for it. It saves no one.

2019-01-30 04:47:01 UTC

Yeah, technically tons of things are illegal to do for money without a license

2019-01-30 04:48:34 UTC

Doing it for free doesn't make it any safer. Being safer is the premise for requiring a license.

2019-01-30 04:49:00 UTC

Nah, it's to protect the industry

2019-01-30 04:49:02 UTC

That is like saying you can own a nucnear bomb as long as you built it yourself.

2019-01-30 04:49:19 UTC

I had a friend who was a wedding photographer. She charged too little and got into trouble for it

2019-01-30 04:50:01 UTC

She had the license and everything but other wedding photographer complained that it was unfair competition

2019-01-30 04:50:04 UTC

Also the industry protecting itself at her expense.

2019-01-30 04:50:08 UTC

Yeah

2019-01-30 04:50:18 UTC

Same kind of thing, and stupid. They wanted the right to overcharge

2019-01-30 04:51:11 UTC

She ended up switching to taking pictures of babies, apparently people are less annoyed about competition in that field

2019-01-30 04:52:30 UTC

At least there are clever ways around it sometimes. I like that Uber has killed the taxi monopoly.

2019-01-30 04:54:17 UTC

We just need better tools to cut our own hair.

2019-01-30 04:54:49 UTC

Depending on the haircut, you can get a trimmer that does the job fine

2019-01-30 04:54:55 UTC

Harder if you have longer hair though

2019-01-30 04:55:07 UTC

I go to one person for a haircut. I trusted her for years.

2019-01-30 04:55:10 UTC

I tried that once. The result was not pretty.

2019-01-30 04:55:32 UTC

10 bucks (15 with tip but still).

2019-01-30 04:55:47 UTC

I had long hair. I wanted to cut it myself real bad.

2019-01-30 04:58:10 UTC

I will surely try again sometime. Preferably on a weekend so I can still save myself before Monday morning.

2019-01-30 05:02:19 UTC

I usually cut my hair myself, but I also don't care too much if it looks a bit weird. I have short hair right now, but I used to have shoulder-length hair. I used scissors then, not trimmers.

2019-01-30 14:32:30 UTC

I have really long hair now. 🙂 I'm thinking of growing it out more, actually. Maybe dying it something neon. Idk

2019-01-30 17:46:53 UTC

My long hair had to be sacrificed. Its fine when living on a boat and working remotely. Not that great for job interviews in the city.

2019-01-30 18:21:54 UTC

That's a real real shame. I'm sorry to hear that. Surely in the city they would be open to you having a pony tail, at least? I thought cities were less sexist about this stuff. :/

2019-01-30 22:25:28 UTC

@Tiggy I don't know. It seemed like a bad time to find out.

@Bobby_Hill and one could be Hitler, but that's not really relevant, is it?
