i think we're still figuring out how the channels will be, right now we're just in the early stages

2018-12-19 13:24:57 UTC

things will evolve, as they do

2018-12-19 19:14:29 UTC

Has anyone seen the Voyager episode 'Retrospect'

2018-12-19 19:15:18 UTC

On rewatching it I think it gives a good example of how people go against people who are falsely accused

2018-12-19 19:16:27 UTC

It’s definitely changing now, all of these stories will be harder and harder to deny. It’s clearly not so@etching we’re trying to “make up.” Everytime someone is falsely accused they and their family/friends learn the hard way how it is

2018-12-19 19:16:33 UTC

Haven’t seen voyager

2018-12-19 20:35:59 UTC

There is something I’ve thought about, to help the MRM grow, something like social media. Think like a Facebook or app for the MRM

2018-12-19 20:36:16 UTC

maybe an app with a “fact of the day” or something

2018-12-20 03:31:17 UTC

@InsaneCaterpilla thats a weird coincedence- i watched that one again a few days ago

2018-12-20 03:32:44 UTC

Really obvious they are making parallels with sexual abuse in the show

2018-12-20 04:49:24 UTC

Well it is star trek, I guess it's popular ^^ idk how many times I've rewatched these.

I've never talked about that particular episode being about that with anyone before that I can think of though

2018-12-20 04:56:45 UTC

In the wiki it says it removed more sexual aspects to avoid angering people... I guess it's 'not ok' to portray an actual parallel

2018-12-20 09:10:08 UTC

@blueorange22 It's way better than a lot of people give it credit for being

2018-12-20 09:10:33 UTC

Fact of the day is a really good idea, btw

2018-12-20 09:11:14 UTC

@Tomas @InsaneCaterpilla That's really interesting

2018-12-20 13:45:48 UTC

see if you can spot anything

2018-12-20 14:29:05 UTC

@Men Are Human it might make a good article for the site, have some juicy official documents

2018-12-20 15:33:01 UTC

ill have it posted by 11 pm EST

2018-12-20 15:52:57 UTC

@Tomas I watched the Lorerunner on that episode, apparently it was supposed to be more directly about sexual abuse in earlier versions

2018-12-21 11:50:40 UTC

@blueorange22 If you could make your work exclusive for the site and share the links as your own it would help the site grow a lot. Especially as I'd like to allow writing teams eventual access directly to the posting function.

2018-12-21 11:50:57 UTC

You are on the list of possible trustees by the way

2018-12-21 13:20:18 UTC

reddit /u/Chrisss2 posted a new link in /r/MensRights
Not sure if this has been x-posted here before, but according to r/Feminism we aren’t allowed to leave the house because if we walk around we can be seen as ‘predators’. Disgusting. - https://redd.it/a890mn

I have no idea if that's satire of the 'women need to dress conservativlly' argument or if they really are that unironic

2018-12-21 13:25:15 UTC

looks like direct satire to me

2018-12-21 13:26:14 UTC

It is. All of it is supposed to play on 'stop rape, don't tell women what to do', which really only exists in the form of 'be careful'

2018-12-21 13:26:22 UTC

is basically all the "just don't get raped" points but in reverse

2018-12-21 13:27:21 UTC

because everyone knows that rapists give a shit about what you are wearing, too conservative dress? yeah, that'll stop 'em xD

2018-12-21 13:36:03 UTC

Really though those arguments are silly. They are said very infrequently by stupid people. The majority of the time they conflate something like 'be careful and don't walk alone at night in a bad neighbourhood' which is really good advice for *anyone* and turn it into meaning 'women shouldn't do x or they deserve rape' which isn't what is meant, at all

2018-12-21 13:37:26 UTC

I was sort-of making a jibe at how they are often unironic hypocrites and say this kind of thing without irony

2018-12-21 13:38:40 UTC

there are some good points though, like being aware of drink spiking and making sure you are in a group that will watch out for you as you also watch out for your friends, that is a problem and men should be aware of it too

2018-12-21 13:39:33 UTC

Yep they should. I've heard of guys being date raped - usually at gay bars

2018-12-21 13:41:42 UTC

I feel like another point, especially to men is to notice when a violent situation is starting to take shape and how to avoid/deescalate it, hardly goes a day without some poor young boy out alone getting coward punched and killed because he couldn't read the situation properly.

2018-12-21 13:42:04 UTC

we engrain this shit into girls and boys are kind of just left to figure it out on their own

2018-12-21 13:43:47 UTC

Like most things, the truth is more or less in the middle

2018-12-21 13:44:12 UTC

Sorry, that posted late

2018-12-21 13:44:26 UTC

and juste yesterday i was debating whther viooence against men or women was more normalized, they really though it was violence against women that was seen as socially acceptable and normal...IMO it's the opposite, when we see men involved in violence its whats "normal"

2018-12-21 13:44:57 UTC

Against women is far more reported

2018-12-21 13:45:01 UTC

Lol

2018-12-21 13:45:34 UTC

I wonder if it's possible to work out the reporting rate
