I was sort-of making a jibe at how they are often unironic hypocrites and say this kind of thing without irony

2018-12-21 13:38:40 UTC

there are some good points though, like being aware of drink spiking and making sure you are in a group that will watch out for you as you also watch out for your friends, that is a problem and men should be aware of it too

2018-12-21 13:39:33 UTC

Yep they should. I've heard of guys being date raped - usually at gay bars

2018-12-21 13:41:42 UTC

I feel like another point, especially to men is to notice when a violent situation is starting to take shape and how to avoid/deescalate it, hardly goes a day without some poor young boy out alone getting coward punched and killed because he couldn't read the situation properly.

2018-12-21 13:42:04 UTC

we engrain this shit into girls and boys are kind of just left to figure it out on their own

2018-12-21 13:43:47 UTC

Like most things, the truth is more or less in the middle

2018-12-21 13:44:12 UTC

Sorry, that posted late

2018-12-21 13:44:26 UTC

and juste yesterday i was debating whther viooence against men or women was more normalized, they really though it was violence against women that was seen as socially acceptable and normal...IMO it's the opposite, when we see men involved in violence its whats "normal"

2018-12-21 13:44:57 UTC

Against women is far more reported

2018-12-21 13:45:01 UTC

Lol

2018-12-21 13:45:34 UTC

I wonder if it's possible to work out the reporting rate

2018-12-21 13:45:39 UTC

and i hate the stupidity of "dont teach women to avoid rape, teacfh men not to rape". you wouldnt see "teach terrorists not to be terrorists", you'd advise people not to travel to an area. if you go to a high crime area, it makes sense to take precautions. drinking at a club is no different

2018-12-21 13:45:46 UTC

All you have to do to debate that is post one of the many videos of women and men being abused in public and the reactions of the public

2018-12-21 13:45:57 UTC

Lol

2018-12-21 13:45:57 UTC

i tried making that very point

2018-12-21 13:46:02 UTC

Yep

2018-12-21 13:46:30 UTC

@blueorange22 what did they say?

2018-12-21 13:47:20 UTC

that i was an idiot

2018-12-21 13:47:28 UTC

then left the discussion

2018-12-21 13:55:18 UTC

Lol

2018-12-21 13:55:27 UTC

So they know you are right

2018-12-21 13:55:31 UTC

Typical

2018-12-21 13:57:05 UTC

Had a debate on rape that got me banned from shit reddit says, of all places

2018-12-21 13:57:41 UTC

I literally just told them the law when they were basically arguing to lock up men for every bad date as rapists

2018-12-21 13:58:32 UTC

well if we have to teach men not to be rapists then we need to train women to not be false accusers as well

2018-12-21 14:07:36 UTC

you cant really teach bad people and psychopaths not to be bad. the kind of person who would commit a violent assault lijely doesnt care about right and wrong. a class would be meaningless to them.

2018-12-21 14:09:17 UTC

people just want to believe theres a "solution" to everything, but the unfortunately reality is that bad people exist and always will

2018-12-21 14:28:20 UTC

There are solutions, but they are practical things that reduce overall numbers. One good thing to do would be to scrap Deluth-style policies.

2018-12-21 14:30:29 UTC

which of course would be immediately attacked as "trying to remove protections for victims"

2018-12-21 14:41:56 UTC

Yep.. But you could easily frame it as attacking victims. It's shitty we have to do that, but there you go

2018-12-21 15:17:47 UTC

I mean, technically it is - you aren't catching the right person and you are trying up the police with nonsense stuff.

2018-12-21 15:20:59 UTC

I mean really, the Duluth model is sexist and victim blaming, a male victim is automatically blamed for his gender

2018-12-21 15:21:23 UTC

It dismissed and discredits certain victims by default

2018-12-21 15:23:25 UTC

@blueorange22 True. This is more about adding in things like "this hurts women too!" than outright making it about them. It's more to try and cajole the SJWs and white knights so they don't instantly switch off

2018-12-21 15:24:46 UTC

Basically just adding an extra layer of argument and inclusion. I admit I said it a little roughly at first - I do it all the time in articles. The Canada one is a blatant example

2018-12-21 16:25:28 UTC

The problem is we are up against a disingenuous and manipulative adversary who will lie without any remorse or regard for consequences

2018-12-21 16:25:36 UTC

So it’s never a fair debate

2018-12-21 16:33:26 UTC

Yeah, there's that

2018-12-21 16:34:06 UTC

Wish we had some kinda way to show them up. I mean, they manufacture statistics by excluding men.

2018-12-21 16:46:35 UTC

Wish Realsexism.com had archived their links....

2018-12-21 16:47:00 UTC

It’s up to us now
