so I was sad

2019-03-06 02:34:11 UTC

Plenty of strong female characters already exist... there's no need to push to make more than male just because 'gender'

2019-03-06 02:34:52 UTC

Technically there should be a push to make more male ones since males statistically have worse reading skills than girls.

2019-03-06 02:35:07 UTC

The agenda just makes that worse every year.

2019-03-06 02:36:36 UTC

yeah it specifically addresses how badly 'strong female' characters are written

2019-03-06 02:36:57 UTC

its bad writing

2019-03-06 02:37:37 UTC

well to be fair it more focuses on how they are almost always written as physically equals to men which is utter nonsense even in superpowered universes

2019-03-06 02:39:24 UTC

I thought about posting it to r/Egalitarianism but that subreddit is so dead its a fucking joke

2019-03-06 03:38:11 UTC

@Maxthx naw, it's not really cooking, I can make better stuffs than that. Good eggs though :3

2019-03-06 03:38:46 UTC

oh good 😛

2019-03-06 03:39:05 UTC

my Dad used to make this breakfast called shit on a shingle

2019-03-06 03:39:41 UTC

it was eggs and sausage gravy on toast

2019-03-06 03:41:24 UTC

Egg sausage and bacon balms are nice.. never thought to put sausage on toast though

2019-03-06 03:51:19 UTC

I like making potato hash, spaghetti bolognese, homemade sausage rolls and pies for proper cooking meals

2019-03-06 04:30:59 UTC

ah, someone else cross posted the r/writing post : \

2019-03-06 04:31:02 UTC

2019-03-06 05:02:56 UTC

2019-03-06 08:23:07 UTC

Pretty good. 😄

2019-03-06 08:23:23 UTC

Is that Sam from supernatural in your avatar?

2019-03-06 08:25:25 UTC

BTW @Maxthx your dad should not be allowed to name food anymore, lol

2019-03-06 08:26:22 UTC

the name actually comes from the army

2019-03-06 08:26:47 UTC

"Shit on a Shingle
A basic army entree, consisting of some form of meat on a form of bread. "

2019-03-06 08:47:57 UTC

Really? That's pretty interesting.

Welcome to the Discord @xerxesgm !

2019-03-06 12:43:01 UTC

Thank you. Happy to be here.

2019-03-06 13:44:22 UTC

are you here from the reddit @xerxesgm ?

2019-03-06 14:16:30 UTC

nice. how long have you been an MRA?

2019-03-06 15:36:13 UTC

Not sure to be honest. I've been lurking on the subreddit for years. Been posting for maybe 1 or 2 years

2019-03-06 15:37:05 UTC

I'm not particularly involved in any daily activism, so to speak, so maybe it would be a stretch to call me an "activist" in any substantial way

2019-03-06 15:38:20 UTC

However, I do agree with the vast majority of concerns brought up on the subreddit (though not all) and would like to see a counter-voice become more prominent. It's extremely disappointing to me how lopsided the system has become and how taboo it is to even discuss this.

2019-03-06 15:39:06 UTC

I was also the victim of a false allegation that nearly destroyed my life (but thankfully didn't)

2019-03-06 15:40:17 UTC

I was already somewhat lurking on the subreddit prior to that. When it got personal and nearly destroyed my life, it hit me hard and I realized how many others face similar situations (and I'm sure many are not as fortunate as me to escape it)

2019-03-06 15:40:52 UTC

The legal system is stacked against males, at least in the U.S. and western world. It's an open secret and yet it's tolerated. Very odd.

2019-03-06 15:42:48 UTC

On top of that, it's now a regular occurrence for me to see females given preferential treatment in promotions and hiring at work (i'm in tech). I one time outright saw a male thrown under the bus as an underperformer because they needed to meet a low-performance quota and the only person lower performing was a female (the director said "we can't have a female at the bottom")

2019-03-06 15:42:58 UTC

Same with hiring events. Just outright preferential treatment.

2019-03-06 15:43:39 UTC

And not just at my company, but many companies that my peers are at. We are all in tech. There is so much pressure to hire women, many people are outright discriminating. It's against the law and yet it's very much tolerated and difficult to prove.
