But I'd still like to try my hand
I planned to make it a trilogy anyway
i do an easy part-time job to pay the bills so that i'm free to fail until I get it right
I'm on the second one now, but I need to go back and re-write the first
I personally wouldn't go all in on a personal project. I'd have it be more of a side gig with a main money maker as an actual job
but like
that doesnt mean ur focusing on the quality of the writing anymore
so its not as special
First one is pretty much alt history, what if stuff. The sequel is the aftermath of said events, and explores the concept of government conspiracies.
also like i said i dont see myself doin anything else in life
@PugThug its about balancing. Making sure to work something on your free time
i mean sure ill work a shit part time job to pay the bills
but im planning to fund the comic w a campaign or sum đź’©
Also, someone said that "time gaps are the laziest forms of story telling."
what is "the problem"?
So like, does that mean that mine is "lazy"? Since the sequel is 14 years after the events of the first
lazy doesn't mean bad
Don't try to set up a campaign if you don't think you'll deliver on a product. That'll fuck you over hard @PugThug
but there are flashback chapters or whatever, that explain the events of what happened between the 14 years
i have a strange relationship with the word lazy lol
Pretty sure mine is full of cliches
"Call for support." "Radio's out."
i try to draw from personal exps in my own life
to force myself to be more invested in the story
i'm at a point where i'm convinced cliches sell a product, and markets don't want to see anything new
Never really got into writing. School kinda turned me off on that
Building shit tho
I was really good at creative writing in high school
đź‘€
so when it comes to cop outs like “a few years later” idk man
if those years were boring, why bother with them?
like it could be interesting tho
Construction is lit when you're making a secure log cabin in the woods all by yourself in the dark.

Time jumps are good if nothing major happens in that time span. Helps get rid of filler
just make sure to show the audience what actually happened in that timespan
I mean the sequel starts off in present day in that universe
instead of telling them like “oh yeah this is what happened”
first was in 1987-1989. Sequel is 2003, but there are flashbacks or whatever that's from 1990-2003
Wait what happened
