Multiple jobs

2018-09-18 18:10:14 UTC

Don't be picky until you can afford to be

2018-09-18 18:10:54 UTC

Why work so many jobs when you can carefully pick one that covers the expenses of more than one?

2018-09-18 18:11:20 UTC

I mean, I understand your argument, but to me, its just another pitiful defense of the already disgusting system.

2018-09-18 18:11:59 UTC

I understand that you are trying to help, but again, we don't live on the same planet.

2018-09-18 18:12:12 UTC

H³ since im 19 i work a 8 to 4 schedule and sometimes i work on the side, i turned 21 recently. Unfortunately this makes your social life suffer a bit.

2018-09-18 18:12:30 UTC

I took a crappy security job that was dangerous and paid little and now i work an easy security job and listen to tfm and alex jones all day making almost double

2018-09-18 18:12:51 UTC

And?

2018-09-18 18:12:54 UTC

You need experience before you start getting picky, you aren't entitled to anything until you prove your abilities

2018-09-18 18:13:29 UTC

I already have experience... this whole "workers aren't entitled" mindset is simply a non-sequiteur to what I am talking about...

2018-09-18 18:14:02 UTC

I've had internships and part-time jobs

2018-09-18 18:14:10 UTC

and a degree

2018-09-18 18:14:19 UTC

Have you ever had a full time job

2018-09-18 18:14:33 UTC

No... that's what I'm looking for lol

2018-09-18 18:15:34 UTC

Again, the whole "appease the employer and it your fault if you don't" argument makes no sense.... I have no control over if I get hired or not. The best that I can do is show up to interviews, dress nice and have my resume prepared.

2018-09-18 18:15:49 UTC

If I don't get hired, its the employer that decides that, not me.

2018-09-18 18:16:10 UTC

If you want an easy full time job go networking

2018-09-18 18:16:31 UTC

Don't put all your eggs in one basket and don't ever depend on one employer. Always have options

2018-09-18 18:16:37 UTC

Options = power

2018-09-18 18:16:48 UTC

That's not the argument my dude.

2018-09-18 18:17:45 UTC

My issue is with the very system that makes people have to choose someone to exploit them, not necessarily that a worker needs to keep options open to be exploited.

2018-09-18 18:17:58 UTC

Again, we have different ideas of what "power" is...

2018-09-18 18:18:23 UTC

Sorry bro I'm teaching rn. Just wanted to give my two cents. If you're operating from a defeatist perspective then you'll always be disappointed. If you don't like the system of work then spend some time in a homeless shelter and reflect on your work ethic

2018-09-18 18:19:46 UTC

Have fun with your non-sequiturs and outdated boomer arguments then. Again, until you understand how it is that people have constructed work, we will never understand each other.

2018-09-18 18:20:34 UTC

And besides, all of my eggs are literally not in one basket because I've applied across many different fields.

2018-09-18 18:26:58 UTC

And by the way, an insurance company did want to hire me, but its commission only, given my concern with the ability to live off of commission. And now I have another interview tomorrow that can hopefully provide more stability than relying on commission.

2018-09-18 20:35:54 UTC

once you accept a job and work their. all your eggs will be in that basket. so yea they are all in one basket

2018-09-18 20:57:28 UTC

@Seven Of Swords dude don't be getting hostile, we're all brothers, just be understanding

2018-09-18 21:00:21 UTC

@Little_Bob_69 I don't understand how I'm being hostile exactly... HHH was the one that said that I should be in a homeless shelter in order to meditate on "work ethic" even though my work ethic is not the issue here...

2018-09-18 21:03:40 UTC

Well we shouldn't point fingers even if you are right, I do believe that meant to give you an exaggerated example of the type of job you would basically want since you have allot of expectations and requirements and also you replied with "and?" Before he said what he said, sounds pretty hostile, I could be wrong

2018-09-18 21:04:04 UTC

That wasn't hostile, you said something about not liking how workers are exploited by their employers for doing a service and if you don't like how the system of work is set then that is why homeless shelters exist

2018-09-18 21:05:43 UTC

@Happy Humble Hermit Really? You think that's why homeless shelters exist? Do you mind if I send you a DM?

2018-09-18 21:05:53 UTC

Its a YouTube video

2018-09-18 21:06:52 UTC

I don't think that homeless shelters simply exist just because the workers aren't bending over backwards for the employers enough...

2018-09-18 21:07:37 UTC

@Little_Bob_69 Was it hostile or did I simply want a more thorough answer of why his point was supposed to be significant?

2018-09-18 21:08:44 UTC

@Happy Humble Hermit I'll send you the DM anyway and we can have perhaps a much more thorough discussion. If you choose not to watch it, then so be it, to each his own.

2018-09-18 21:11:47 UTC

I spent time in a homeless shelter

2018-09-18 21:12:06 UTC

A large percentage of men were divorced rape and unfairly placed there

2018-09-18 21:12:24 UTC

And a percentage did not want to work and indulged in drugs and alcohol

2018-09-18 21:12:37 UTC

We can complain about the state of employment but you still need to be employed

2018-09-18 21:13:16 UTC

Why?
