Why is the tech industry in the US so liberal? I personally think 3 major factors:

1) The location is the west coast so already quite liberal heritage with abundance.
2) Technology evolves quickly and is kind of age-ist so hiring fresh college grads who were just indoctrinated for 4+ years.
3) Google and other colleges like hiring PhD/MS even when not necessary and the longer people are in universities the more liberal they tend to be.

Outside of academia itself, the tech field seems so unique so it always was curious to me.
