I live in one of the most expensive places in the US. Average rent is $1200 American which is roughly equal to a mortgage payment. And that's just rent; theres also utilities, food, gas, etc

Greetings men

2018-11-12 12:26:01 UTC

@Kazemaru why are you here if you get fucked by the mods all the time

2018-11-12 12:26:07 UTC

@Rhunespire OK... But men are capable of survive with 2k U$/month in a small town?

2018-11-12 12:26:50 UTC

@legendpinnen because friends can troll each other without beeing offended

2018-11-12 12:27:17 UTC

@thevillageidiot

2018-11-12 12:27:22 UTC

@legendpinnen your labels are a proof of friendship from the mods

2018-11-12 12:30:20 UTC

i dont think your labels really scream friendship @Kazemaru

2018-11-12 12:30:32 UTC

@Rhunespire I thought around that or 1500 a month for rent was normal. I did the math. I need to work 40 hours a week with a minimum $20 per hour job. To just afford everything on own.

2018-11-12 12:30:38 UTC

Yeah, it is fucked. Inflation and other crap.

2018-11-12 12:31:34 UTC

Biggest problem is if you get sick or something happens so you have to save that money for a rainy day.

2018-11-12 12:32:32 UTC

then dont live in a big city

2018-11-12 12:32:54 UTC

Problem with savings is that it is affected by inflation as well, so you have to kind of account for that as well, particularly if it's your retirement fund.

2018-11-12 12:33:14 UTC

get gold and property then @ColdEmbraceOfDeath

2018-11-12 12:33:43 UTC

Rent always consume half of your income, thats why Most men live with their parents or roomates

2018-11-12 12:33:48 UTC

Property isn't cheap. And there is only a certain limit up to which gold is profitable, a lot of people here are way past that.

2018-11-12 12:34:09 UTC

hmm whats that limit @ColdEmbraceOfDeath

2018-11-12 12:34:13 UTC

Well, you can't get a place to stay as a bachelor here anyways, so rent is out of the question.

2018-11-12 12:34:20 UTC

Don't know, been awhile since I read about it.

2018-11-12 12:34:57 UTC

Serious question, do you think it'll ever reverse. Like how one could afford part time delivery boy job and pay for college and enjoy in 70s. Wages have been purely stagnant. Will we ever have wages increase to be have increased spending power. Or are we just headed to barely surviving unless I figure out how to work smarter rather than harder.

@legendpinnen isn't living in a major city closer to 2k a month?

2018-11-12 12:36:08 UTC

Not with women working, like you have twice the amount of labour and the same amount of jobs, so I doubt it.

2018-11-12 12:36:39 UTC

@ColdEmbraceOfDeath yea they halved wages but didnt double the work force

2018-11-12 12:37:00 UTC

@Madhawk1995 yea i think so the average in lets say dc is 2k

2018-11-12 12:37:40 UTC

I know NYC is closer to 3. And they are not impressive.

2018-11-12 12:38:25 UTC

then just dont live in a major

2018-11-12 12:38:33 UTC

unless you have to

2018-11-12 12:39:23 UTC

I personally don't want too. I enjoy fresh air land. Looking at houses PA. We'll see how that goes, my Buddy just moved it there.

2018-11-12 12:39:52 UTC
2018-11-12 12:39:59 UTC

Pennsylvania

2018-11-12 12:40:07 UTC

isnt that expensive?

2018-11-12 12:40:38 UTC

Yeah he's splitting Victorian house with someone for 1.5k a month.

2018-11-12 12:41:11 UTC

i would never wanna have a roomate

2018-11-12 12:41:21 UTC

id rather just size down

2018-11-12 12:41:55 UTC

whats the minimum wage in the us?

2018-11-12 12:41:57 UTC

I'd rather have one of you guys as a roommate than a girl or a buzzfeed cuck.

2018-11-12 12:42:45 UTC

obvs

2018-11-12 12:42:51 UTC

They raised it around 7.61
But if you work for amazon or whole foods you get paid $15 an hour.

2018-11-12 12:43:14 UTC

some roomates could be good but id not risk it

2018-11-12 12:43:44 UTC

cuz if you leave they might get mad since the y now have to pay the full rent

2018-11-12 12:43:57 UTC

and who knows what theyll do then
