Right, and?

2019-12-06 04:33:39 UTC

I don't think conservatives were against civil rights all those years ago, the Republicans for example were the party that fought against slavery

2019-12-06 04:33:41 UTC

what evidence

2019-12-06 04:33:46 UTC

mainly to further their political agenda

2019-12-06 04:34:08 UTC

like nixon pushed for the 1957 civil rights and 1964 civil rights act and was so popular he won like over 75% of the popular vote

2019-12-06 04:34:17 UTC

and like 98% of the electoral college

2019-12-06 04:34:32 UTC

@everybodydothatdinosaur this is because you think the republicans have always been the reactionary party, infact the democrats were the reactionary party, it was not until the 60's that things switched

2019-12-06 04:34:33 UTC

I'm not sure conservatives were ever against like, idk equality and rights, especially under the law

2019-12-06 04:34:49 UTC

things didn't really switch, both the democrats and Republicans support almost the exact same positions as then

2019-12-06 04:35:04 UTC

All I know is that everyone has a big fat pile of information , so huge that no human could absorb it all. It's yours for the taking. Anytimee you want

2019-12-06 04:35:05 UTC

there is literally one guy who switched as well, Strom Thurmond

2019-12-06 04:35:59 UTC

The reality is that on gun rights, freedom of speech, promoting the constitution, anti-slavery etc. the republicans are virtually the same, where as Democrats still seem to promote slavery even to this day in California with cheap illegal immigrant labor, outsourcing to China and so on

2019-12-06 04:36:05 UTC

part of slavery today and party of slavery 150 years ago

2019-12-06 04:36:18 UTC

i am not a republican or a democrat, i am right wing, i am anti egalitarian, i am not a reactionary because i do not cave like the conservatives have, there is no equality, egalitarianism is a lie

2019-12-06 04:36:19 UTC

What has changed is the messaging, this is good for black people to have abortions and to disarm them, and so on

2019-12-06 04:36:29 UTC

Well, the marxists/postmodernists have hijacked the left so things are not what they were

2019-12-06 04:36:41 UTC

that was kind of true since the 30's though

2019-12-06 04:36:47 UTC

The left was against wwii

2019-12-06 04:36:48 UTC

my question would be is the conservative party the dominant culture, and has it slowly evolved and changed it's views over time or has it slowly itself been slowly replaced by an entirely different culture?

2019-12-06 04:36:50 UTC

@everybodydothatdinosaur stop talking in terms of parties

2019-12-06 04:36:59 UTC

Berkley riots broke out in the 30's against WWII

2019-12-06 04:37:04 UTC

becuase liberals haven't changed a bit

2019-12-06 04:37:24 UTC

obviously when we pulled out of vietnam this ended the war in vietnam, right? pulling out doesn't lead to peace, it leads to more violence once the power vaccume is filled

2019-12-06 04:37:50 UTC

this is a reminder that the progressive party of teddy was republican, liberals used to be republican, dont talk in terms of parties @everybodydothatdinosaur , i dont even know if you are reading what i am saying or just circle jerking your own thread of posts

2019-12-06 04:37:52 UTC

it won't work today etheir ,but they are convinced this will lead to an "end" of foreign wars, as they define the end as us withdrawing, as opposed to the violence ending, and then connect the two things

2019-12-06 04:37:54 UTC

*i use the conservative party as a placeholder term*

2019-12-06 04:38:01 UTC

if you dont want to have a conversation then just keep going on

2019-12-06 04:38:26 UTC

the reality is though, the left doesn't really believe in equality etheir, hence the desire for affirmitive action and whatnot

2019-12-06 04:38:34 UTC

You must put one above the other or assume the other is worse etc.

2019-12-06 04:38:58 UTC

The left believes in EQUITY, equality of OUTCOME

2019-12-06 04:38:59 UTC

The thing is, more than anything I think is that people in general like to think we are equal under the law or equal in human value, not equal at all things

2019-12-06 04:39:25 UTC

@everybodydothatdinosaur there are two types of egalitarians, the ones that think nature shows that everyone is equal, and the ones that believe that nature is unequal and it is the duty of the state to make it equal

2019-12-06 04:39:30 UTC

Someone may be smarter or stronger or whatever, but the value as humans doesn't neccessarily change, treatment under the law and so on, for a fair system

2019-12-06 04:39:37 UTC

I believe in equal access to opportunity, we have achieved that in the usa

2019-12-06 04:39:48 UTC

or egalitarians that believe everyone is equal but don't want to enforce mandated equality of outcome

2019-12-06 04:40:07 UTC

@everybodydothatdinosaur some humans are more valuable than others, there are worse humans and better humans, dumber and smarter, stronger and weaker

2019-12-06 04:40:08 UTC

American culture or ideology, whatever you want to call it, is based off of the idea that people are all equal and have certain immutable rights

2019-12-06 04:40:24 UTC

I even believe in helping people who are in bad situations, even though that's not really promoting egalatarianism, even if in some way it's their fault. But of course the left goes off the wall bonkers

2019-12-06 04:40:25 UTC

@TeeTotaler this was not always the case

2019-12-06 04:40:26 UTC

@Brue. Subjectively, yes

2019-12-06 04:40:33 UTC

equality is not a marxist concept, nor was it really
