i am fairly certain superherodeluxe is either trolling and trying to bait our nazis and violent types, or actually just logically lacking. and that is not an insult i just dont think he has an ability to understand opponents arguments well. or alteast cannot empathize well

nature is hierarchical, you need to be Darwinistic in your approach, equality of opportunity is a socialist idea as a stepping stone for outcome and redistribution. life is not fair, there are winners and losers. the best societies let the winners win and the losers lose and let the market and natural selection decide who is in which category.

Equality of opportunity predates marx

2019-12-06 06:11:26 UTC

By a couple hundred years

2019-12-06 06:12:26 UTC

Marx was a total failure and everywhere in the world his ideas have been attempted they have self destructed, the communist manifesto is nothing more than whinging drivel.

2019-12-06 06:13:07 UTC

while the end of scarcity is far beyond any of our lifetimes, basically yes

2019-12-06 06:13:37 UTC

or, I guess that's socialism, full scale communism or marxism doesn't even merit that caveat

2019-12-06 06:13:38 UTC

Equality of opportunity is an enlightenment value and is the principle that no one should be unjustly descriminated against or precluded from opportunity

2019-12-06 06:14:16 UTC

Marx posited people could not be equal while individuals owned private property and private means of production. Blatantly false

2019-12-06 06:14:51 UTC

the margin of people genuinely disenfranchised from opportunity is a fair sight overadvertised, granted

2019-12-06 06:15:50 UTC

Socialism, state ownership of resources and means of production is the antithesis to equality of opportunity because opportunity is removed from the equation, instead of a meritocracy where the best and brightest excel the most the state determines how successful you can be

2019-12-06 06:16:04 UTC

though even accounting for the genuinely disenfranchised, its rarely clear who has taken it from them or who should intervene

2019-12-06 06:16:15 UTC

Communism is impossible due to the fact that it requires the removal of basic human nature

2019-12-06 06:16:39 UTC

Perfect people do not exist and the average worker is out for himself and his "tribe"

2019-12-06 06:17:24 UTC

Allowing mob ownership of resources and the means of production outside of a municipal level is economic suicide

2019-12-06 06:18:17 UTC

Socialism is so far both unviable and unnattractive. the day scarcity of resources is solved, if ever, certainly not in any generation too soon after ours, it'll only be unnattractive

2019-12-06 06:19:14 UTC

Socialism will never be viable as it still operates on the principles of scarcity, implying that there are only so many resources available and its immoral to allow any one person to own "too much"

2019-12-06 06:19:16 UTC

my point being it could work in a completely different world

2019-12-06 06:19:57 UTC

When and if scarcity is solved then we will have to come up with a completely new system of economics from scratch

2019-12-06 06:20:05 UTC

I wouldn't imagine I'd ever see such a world, or even wish to participate in it, I'm just saying

2019-12-06 06:20:44 UTC

I dont think scarcity will ever be solved

2019-12-06 06:20:54 UTC

We will annihilate ourselves before then

2019-12-06 06:21:01 UTC

maybe

2019-12-06 06:21:25 UTC

though if the fusion tech tree bears fruit, maybe not

2019-12-06 06:21:52 UTC

Whatever economic illiterates want to say capitalism is the best economic system we presently have

2019-12-06 06:22:30 UTC

Although it will be interesting to see how A.I. changes that

2019-12-06 06:22:32 UTC

best is a bit of a stretch. I'd simply call it the one with the lowest failure rate and most outwardly attractive

2019-12-06 06:22:49 UTC

Thus meaning the best we have currently ^

2019-12-06 06:23:17 UTC

I'm not comfortable calling a system best when its so easily manipulated into boom-bust cycles
