If you want to get into soldering, I advise you to get some good shit. A soldering station, with temperature control.

Also, get a vice to hold the circuit board.

Probably adjustable orientation.

Some vice are meant to hold an object firmly while you use heavy tools on it.

@What Would Jack Conte Do? There's flat board vices that are used for surface mount soldering. They basically look like stanrdard press vices but they have plastic inserts with notches on them.

plugged it in and it seems to be completely functional
