it's 1898
and long guns only
You also don't have to register a firearm if it doesn't reach certain specifications in Canada, ie. my Slavia 618 rifle isn't powerful enough to need to be registered
so a flintlock pistol, no. A musket though, do as you please. You just have to follow the rules getting ammo.
However, since the ammunition rules in Canada are based around *cartridge* ammunition, as the RCMP says here
http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/fs-fd/powder-poudre-eng.htm
black powder is covered under the explosives act instead
Heh
This means a musket is a self-defense weapon that's legal for all citizens of Canada
Nitro Express rifles *incoming*
That's still a cartridge
boooooooooo
only read the `antique firearms are any firearm made before 1885` bit
You'd be perfectly fine owning it
you'd just have issues buying ammo

What's so insane about teachers with pistols?
I fail to see a downside
Do you at least have a guard?
The screeching is about mandating teachers be armed because "more guns = more violence" and because teachers are too busy trying(and failing) to properly teach their students to worry about gun training and handling
They are scared that teachers will shoot the students.
Maybe stop being a little shit to your teachers then.
I'd be more worried about someone other the teacher getting a hold of the gun, but still...
The only case of something bad that ever happened was that retard that shot at the ceiling.
How the fuck can you accidentally shoot the ceiling with your concealed gun?
You play with it. My friend in the police told me a story about some guys who shot a hole in their police car
End public schools
No more mass shootings at schools
Stop making the people who have to educate and protect students subject to the whims of the government and by extension the masses
very woke
When was the last time there was a shooting at a private school?
hmmmmm'
Because they have to provide for their own protection and maintenance
Also they dictate their own admissions and policies
Public schools are a target, private schools protect their own interests
Tbh? I see this as useless
Since the problem is not the amount of guns, but the mental state of the ones committing the crime
Sure, but solving mental health is a complex issue
I'm all for protecting oneself until we can figure that shit out
And also after.
Yeah, it's a complex issue that is being ignored
While people try to make this about guns
