There’s going to be a shift soon, and the pendulum will change directions to the right, just as it went left in the 60’s, as a result of the liberals becoming conservatives due to perspective

2018-05-06 06:06:11 UTC

Nah, that's not how it works anymore. Leftist philosophy is being destroyed before our eyes. We'll see a shift to politics more similar pre-WW2 dichotomies

2018-05-06 06:06:30 UTC

(In my opinion)

2018-05-06 06:10:34 UTC

Well, back in the 50’s and before, conservatism was deeply rooted everywhere, and being a lefty was counterculture and weird. Now, leftism is everywhere, and liberalism/conservatism is counterculture. But it is possible that the democrats/left go back to pre-WWII as they struggle to survive. Could even be a party flip flop, where the left tries to go back and the right moves forward. That’d be weird.

Anyway, good talking to ya, but I need some sleep. Adieu

@Deleted User Ancaps are a subset of libertarians. Not all libertarians are ancaps.

2018-05-06 17:29:29 UTC

@Deleted User is a commie
it's sort of expected that she'd conflate libertarians with ancaps

2018-05-06 17:34:04 UTC

@Deleted User I think any average person would. It's not exactly a mainstream concept

2018-05-06 17:34:23 UTC

that's because they're sheeple

2018-05-06 17:35:05 UTC

No, it's because not everyone is a politics nerd like we are lol

2018-05-06 17:36:21 UTC

lol

2018-05-06 17:36:57 UTC

He is actually right in this one

2018-05-06 17:37:24 UTC

For real, when you take a step back from all this, you feel like you arw taking small stuff way too seriously

2018-05-06 17:37:55 UTC

who?

Take a month break of reading politics, and the world will seems perfect

2018-05-06 17:39:16 UTC

That's why I understand people who don't see "the cultural war" or "the Muslim problem"

2018-05-06 17:39:25 UTC

Even the problem with illegal migration

2018-05-06 17:39:36 UTC

It's like the Man Behind the Curtain from wizard of oz

2018-05-06 17:39:36 UTC

They are just uniformed about a subject

2018-05-06 17:39:50 UTC

And since their lives are going without problems, they don't care

2018-05-06 17:41:07 UTC

Which seems to be a bigger problem, if most people aren't taking into consideration externalities for their long term plans

2018-05-06 17:41:18 UTC
2018-05-06 17:41:36 UTC

To understand the problems, and their implications

2018-05-06 17:41:51 UTC

You have to actually look for it

2018-05-06 17:42:01 UTC

Inform yourself about what's happening

2018-05-06 17:42:08 UTC

And most people just don't do that

2018-05-06 17:56:46 UTC

no wonder people can act so ignorant about a problem/issue

2018-05-06 19:00:05 UTC

No, I'm not a communist.

2018-05-06 19:01:19 UTC

I don't bother learning what anarcho-anything means, because I know the person identifying with it is a lunatic.

2018-05-06 19:02:08 UTC

@Deleted User well, considering you were wanting to ban people off the server because they said something you didn't like, you kinda sound like a commie.

2018-05-06 19:03:16 UTC

Well, if you think that too much government involvement is a bad thing, anarchism doesn't sound all too crazy @DanielKO

2018-05-06 19:03:24 UTC

@Fitzydog I was kidding.

2018-05-06 19:05:27 UTC

@DanielKO Anarcho capitalism isn't really anarchy anyways. It's also called 'voluntarism', due to the natural proclivity of people to form groups for mutual defense.

2018-05-06 19:06:00 UTC

Sounds great for a Mad Max world.

2018-05-06 19:07:58 UTC

No, it wouldn't be like that at all. More like really big HOAs, and city states.

2018-05-06 19:15:20 UTC

When you think about it, Anarcho capitalism is more like 18th century North America, with the population centers having rules, but there's the option to leave for somewhere else if you'd like. The 'state' didn't really impact the individual at all.
