This city is rotting from the inside, and being bought up by Chinese real estate investors. Most of the homes in Downtown aren't even occupied
On the Seattle head tax. My friend who lives there claims that Amazon having moved in raised the cost of living and created the homelessness problem. Sounds fishy to me, especially knowing his politics but I feel I need to learn more.
I don't think seattle had a history of manufacturing, did it?
I live nearby. Amazon didn't cause the homelessness problem
I asked him what primary industries were before Amazon and he doesn't know.

There's never been a manufacturing sector here, just business. And the historically low taxes is what made companies like Starbucks, costco, microsoft, and Amazon stay in the area and flock here.
For the last 20 years Seattle has been messing with legislation similar to San Franciscos which attracted bums from several states away, because of the mild weather, and the fact that the police aren't allowed to disturb them.
