If he had been hands off, things wouldn't have been nearly as bad

2018-08-21 23:57:41 UTC

on the contrary

2018-08-21 23:57:45 UTC

Hoover did exactly that

2018-08-21 23:57:53 UTC

And it only went to worse

2018-08-21 23:58:27 UTC

This is why we can never escape the virus of socialism...

2018-08-21 23:58:44 UTC

There is a point were letting the economy work itself out has no way of working, since that is how it got to that point

2018-08-21 23:58:46 UTC

Instead of learning from mistakes, we just blame them on externalities

2018-08-21 23:59:35 UTC

When the stock market crashed, Hoover's policy was of not doing anything, hoping the markets would work themselves out.... this only caused mayhem

2018-08-21 23:59:54 UTC

@Fitzydog MUH PEAKS n TROUGHS

It's almost like a stock market is unstable in a free market, non-interventionist environment

@Deleted User I am reading the article

2018-08-22 00:03:07 UTC

also the Tariff act was a disaster

2018-08-22 00:03:28 UTC

Hell, the economy would be so weird today had nothing been done. Businesses and CEO's being untrusting of a stock market and day trading due to its volatility....

2018-08-22 00:05:17 UTC

Most of our modern economy is based on taking advantage of the artificial scaffolding that was created through government intervention

2018-08-22 00:06:20 UTC

Day trading, hedge funds, gov't bonds, federally insured banks, etc

2018-08-22 09:36:15 UTC

Talcolm Malcom might be on his way out

2018-08-22 09:36:20 UTC

Is faith goldy actually in with any sort of chance of winning? i'd have thought canada was all sewn up for the far left.

2018-08-22 10:55:27 UTC

a lot of the normal people are waking up to the bullshit as unlike the US where the wallets are growing fatter, the canadian wallets are starting to look like a anorectic supermodel and that pisses them off alot

Doubt she wins but just attracting a decent amount of votes is a win atm

@Deleted User Nice thought, but he's LibDems, which is another party entirely. I'd settle for Abbott, though, for bonus irony (considering Turnbull stabbed him for the PM spot originally)
