That isn't morality, it is nature.
@flyingfoxel I'm talking about dan still hasn't proven shit
Morality is what we build around natural impulses and imperatives
@flyingfoxel - So you don't care to refer to the type of behavior a person has at all? Sounds like saying that the person doesn't have a gender, weight, height, or skin color when reporting someone to the police for a crime you just witnessed.
Which is why morality progresses and changes and evolves even though our nature doesnt
@ConceptHut all those traits exsist you moron
Or hasn't during the same span of time, I should say
@flyingfoxel - Behavior exists
Belief in, or lack of belief in a truth claim does not make the claim true or false.
@Roarey - Moral understanding changes, morality itself does not change.
^
Yes it does change.
Name something that hasn't changed that is a moral value
@ConceptHut yes but the subjective context you are adding of the view thats it's evil is wrong and moronic
@flyingfoxel - If a thing exists, you can measure it and apply labels to different measurement results.
Understanding of the universe has changed, the universe itself does not change its fundimental rules
Tell that to people with a slave fetish. But yeah, seriously, human captivity being bad is a moral value that hasn't changed?
Example of a thing existing regardless of the understanding of it changing: Globe centric vs sun centric rotation.
Sure, no one says "My sister was taken prisoner. But that's okay."
Except the cultures that think slavery is a perfectly acceptable thing.
@Fitzydog except for ancaps <:pepe_smug:378719408341909506>
No one behaves as though morals are subjective
@DanConway - People that don't want held accountable seem to at least for themselves.
afk
Do they?
they do paul the second you no longer live in a cohesive society
lol
I have seen ancapistans IRL
That is not a premise of the claim
which is why i keep calling it retarded
@Roarey Like I started off with: I don't think you understand what we mean by objective morality
Group x doesn't think they should be slaves, group y thinks group x should be slaves. Both feel they are morally justified.
``` and the people who enslaved them don't care.``` This is where selective morality comes into play. The slavers wouldn't like to be enslaved and would likely claim it to be immoral.
