If there are a million universes all with different fine tuning then obviously any sentient creature will find itself in the one universe that seems fine tuned for its existence. There’s no one alive in the other 99.9999% of universes the realize it’s not fine tuned

2019-12-21 20:54:12 UTC

Now realize it’s not 1M it’s more like 10 to the 500 (string theory landscape)

2019-12-21 20:54:13 UTC

@James Peterson because if it had any admixture of potentiality it would require actualization

2019-12-21 20:54:38 UTC

How about the cosmological constant. Is it’s too fast, you can’t form planets. If it’s too slow, the universe collapses.

Also, I can reverse that argument. If I exist and God exist, I just need God to create one universe for me to exist, therefore I exist.

2019-12-21 20:54:52 UTC

I used the same logic as Fuguer. I used a deduction.

2019-12-21 20:54:59 UTC

Cosmological constant is addresses by multiverse comment I just made above

2019-12-21 20:55:20 UTC

That doesn’t mean it came about naturally or by a personal mean.

2019-12-21 20:55:22 UTC

the only thing more Talmudic and Rabbinical than a Rabbi is a Christian trying to pretend his beliefs are justified

2019-12-21 20:55:29 UTC

In the 99.999999999% of universes where it’s not at a good value for life no one is alive to ask the question

2019-12-21 20:55:55 UTC

a Jew would be hard pressed to keep up with the Talmudry of a Christian Apologist

2019-12-21 20:56:01 UTC

You can only be alive to notice how finely tuned it is in a universe where it’s at a value required for life. It’s a tautology

2019-12-21 20:56:11 UTC

Or you could just have one universe for life. I use a deduction as you do.

2019-12-21 20:56:28 UTC

I am pro race mixing

Yes but a multiverse of randomly generated parameters explains all fine tuning arguments

2019-12-21 20:57:13 UTC

And we see how the Higgs broke our symmetry in a random way so we’ve already seen it happen once

2019-12-21 20:57:23 UTC

Wow that latest episode with the bond market guy was a damn train wreck

2019-12-21 20:57:30 UTC

Just having one explanation doesn’t evoke me to accept your theory over mine.

2019-12-21 20:57:34 UTC

And we know from inflation theory there is likely a vast landscape of universes where the Higgs collapses differently

2019-12-21 20:57:40 UTC

good aftermorning m'goys

2019-12-21 20:57:43 UTC

his theory is better

2019-12-21 20:57:48 UTC

Good afternoon

2019-12-21 20:57:55 UTC

due to Occams Razor

2019-12-21 20:58:00 UTC

@iamwhoiam which goy?

2019-12-21 20:58:08 UTC

no need to invoke additional complexity

2019-12-21 20:58:14 UTC

The multiverse theory has more assumptions.

2019-12-21 20:58:19 UTC

when you have an explanation without it

2019-12-21 20:58:21 UTC

I make literally one assumption

2019-12-21 20:58:27 UTC

Except we’ve already seen that multiverses exist

2019-12-21 20:58:41 UTC

Double slit experiment

2019-12-21 20:58:42 UTC

@fuguer have you been to another universe?

2019-12-21 20:58:46 UTC

Higgs collapse

2019-12-21 20:58:54 UTC

On my phone top three apps are as follows

Discord
Tinder
YouTube
Twitter
Pizza Hut

2019-12-21 20:59:04 UTC

I haven’t gotten to that experiment yet.

2019-12-21 20:59:09 UTC

Five

2019-12-21 20:59:14 UTC

We’ve observed evidence of other universes

2019-12-21 20:59:17 UTC

I’ve read that there are over 20 genes that determine skin color. Is there any truth to dark skin being dominant? The majority of mixed people’s skin tones I’ve met have been somewhere in the middle of both parents.

2019-12-21 20:59:37 UTC

We’ve never observed evidence of god
