It is almost impossible to know if something has been altered. I have a number of copies of the Book of Enoch in PDF format and one of them in the Prophecy of Weeks completely alters the entire structure of the prophecy, without footnoting it (to exclude Christ completely). It takes the Prophecy of Christ and puts it at then end of the Weeks. It is translated by a jewish man. I found that if you didn't go word by word in the language of the writings origin that you would never know if it had been altered or not (there are good translations of most works, if you know a scholar; but with something as touchy as the future Theocracy of the planet you can pretty much assume that most are altered to fit a specific 'interest'). So for the Bible it is best to go to the original docs and then word by word, studying and educating yourself...but since the Maccabees are historic record I did not delve as closely into them as I did other more relevant works.
For example the Greek word when addressing Mary in the Angelic Salutation is closest to full of grace instead of highly blessed one, but full of grace still doesn't quite fit what was meant
That is one of the most poignant things about translation, it can move the goalpost significantly even if it is the authors best effort.
If I remember right the word is in a weird tense that means most exactly "always full of grace, past, present, and future"
κεχαριτωμένη is in a feminine perfect past tense, so "being in full grace from the past all the way to now" is what it means
And the way angel says it echos name changes is the old testament like Abrahm to Abraham
@Iakovos Maccabees are Bible books on the Jewish revolt, sorta like the Bible version of 300, some of the most badass stuff ever written
oy
Game of Thrones fans are petitioning them to rewrite season 8, my sides
It's all just tits and dragons.
All the dragons are ded though
except one
🤷🏻♂️
Imagine getting a chance to resurrect an extinct species of fire-breathing war machines and you kill them all because you're too retarded to know how to lead properly
Historical > Fantasy
I mean some classical fantasy is pretty good
Elric is good
fantasy isn't bad but id say historical is far superior
tolkein btfo every gay ass fantasy lmao
Why do they want to re-write it?
Gay RR Martin is a shit writer who spends three pages talking about dicks
Literally there's one point where there's like, a page and a half description, of one of the character's dicks. It's really, really, weird.
imagine writing fantasy and including FAGGOTS
Yikes
Imagine writing fantasy and including woman rulers
lmao
Then again, the women rulers fuck everything up and destroy the entire kingdom, so I guess it's accurate
women rulers not particularly bad most in history had an army of men advising them
now giving all women political power Big Time Yikes
Oh yeah, Daenerys went crazy so fans are pissed about that too. Especially the female fans that thought Daenerys was STRONG AND FIIIIERCE
lol
Also the Night King came all the way to the wall just to get fucking stabbed by Arya with no effort.
So yeah, I guess that plot point's wrapped up, good job guis
Seriously I thought season 8 was going to be bad, but holy shit, this is worse than I ever could have expected
I don't know, Daenerys sounds surprisingly similar to St. Olga of Kiev
....how
St. Olga of Kiev did not take her husband's death well to say the least
From wiki:
After Igor's death in 945, Olga ruled Kievan Rus as regent on behalf of their son Svyatoslav.[10] Little is known about Olga’s tenure as ruler of Kiev, but the Primary Chronicle does give an account of her ascension to the throne and her bloody revenge on the Drevlians for the murder of her husband as well as some insight into her role as civil leader of the Kievan people.
