Take it to <#567704060015280138> or I'll ban both of you
God knows what lies inside your mind and your entire self, but when you pray to him, you humble yourself, you recognize that you’re the not worthy of absolutely nothing yet with His eternal glory and infinite mercy He forgives you, but you have to recognize it before him, if we say that He already knows what we need and therefore we need not pray then what’s the point of trying to live a godly life? You fall into taking salvation for granted to a lower scale and that’s nothing more than a lie from the deceiver to condemn you
Therefore I suggest you that even if you’re not praying for a particular petition, give thanks and ask for humility before the Lord, words will come naturally after that
is prayer meant to be a petition to God?
Prayer can be just talking to God
I personally give thanks every day after I wake up and before I sleep
PRAY IN FEAR AND TREMBLING
@Deleted User dude, shut up or I'll put you in the pit
how is that not a response
Philippians 2:12
**Philippians 2:12 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)**
```Dust
Shining as Lights in the World
<12> Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed me, not only in my presence, but much more now in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; ```
Because you aren't being productive
You can pray in fear as you can pray in joy
It’s our way to communicate with God
@MawLr I've been in to too much aestetic shit
So have I?
Kneeling is a typical position for prayer as well standing or sitting. I occasionally pray while lying in bed
Monks who fucking won't eat anything but water and hardtack
Fasting, it’s not out of fear but out of reverence
^
I suppose yes
But they live their entire lives like such
idk
Pretty sure they sacrifice their worldly pleasure for the good of others... not that they don't want it.
Saying that someone doesn't want to experience worldly pleasure cheapens their sacrifice.
I'm just kind of like at what point are you denying the gifts God has given the world
Idk how monks do it. The most I went fasting was three days
Is abstaining from extramarital sex denying the gifts that God has given?
No, but you can enjoy such after entering marriage
Just like eating,
You are doing so in a way that is not gluttonous
In the same way sex is to be enjoyed solely through a covenant in marriage
And between a man and a woman
Dont you forget that part
@Wrath real funny cunt
You’re taking asceticism in a fearmongering way instead of the actual meaning of it
It’s meant to make us reach theosis
I'm not saying these monks are wrong or anything
But like how far can asceticism go
