In a country of a billion I guess they just find any excuse to not associate with people

@JHWH too many to count. We have test days once a month with our classes, where the class is just review and test...today I get a message saying that a student want to observe a class before purchasing it (we don't really allow this) and that they are going to observe tomorrow's classes (test day)

First I say "we don't even allow that...and you chose a test day to show them? Wouldn't it be smarter to show an actual class? Am I supposed to let them take the test too?"

She responded "OMG wow you are really smart, I didn't even think about that wow. I knew it was test day too"

This is chink coworker favorite phrase

What they really mean is "I already fucked up and if we reverse it I'll lose face"

Another one this weekend, sent to me at midnight : "by the way, other teacher is sick so you have to do open lesson with the students tomorrow at 9am"

So we do open lessons after every 2 months to let parents in and show off what they've learned and show student parent relationship

But I'm just covering this class since they are sick, they aren't my class

So I have no idea what they know and they don't know me at all

I explain this to them..

How it would be a disaster and waste of time..and I ask "are we interested in quality?"

Also I bought coffee from Starbucks today (only because it's only coffee place within 1km of my work ) and they are like "wow so rich.."

They were half joking though but still

There is delicious coffee available everywhere in Taiwan it was awesome

In mainland not so much, and when you find it it's all Starbucks prices

My fiancee and I asked 2 local coffeeshop owners why they own it and they say "well my husband pays all the bills, and he asked me what I want to own to keep me busy...so I said coffeeshop. But I don't like coffee..."
