Immunity isn't a 100% thing. The way it works is people have a high resistance to a disease so maybe one or two people get sick, but then the pandemic runs out of steam.
but if you have a large portion of your population that's 0% immune, they'll all get very sick, die and spread the disease to lots of people who have been immunized
Plus there are people who can't be immunized due to various health reasons who are sort of protected in a society where everyone except them is immunized.
