that's the problem here
So if liability insurance is intrinsically racist because minorities are poor, why is it *not* racist to allow a paid exemption from carry @Mandatory Carry ?
@A. Spader
As to the liability insurance issue, I think I addressed that by *Limitations of liability* (section 17);
In short, if you can't be arrested, you can't be sued, either.
does that cover wrongful death/shooting though?
that's what I'm asking
*If you can't be arrested...*
So you're advocating abolishing the concept of wrongful death entirely?
Oh. Convicted, rather.
but who pays the attorney's fees?
criminal for the defendant, civil for both?
because the way our legal system without some way to pay for a decent attorney you're f---ed
Ok.
¿What is the issue? I don't understand.
I'm gonna through my $0.02 in the ring. I haven't read MC's stuff, but from what I've gathered in the comments it's a draft of a bill that would require everyone to own and carry a firearm. If someone doesn't follow the law they are penalized with a monthly fine. That sounds suspiciously like obamacare. If one doesn't have health insurance they are penalized on their taxes. I know because that happened to me. I'm guessing this would be implemented on the federal level. It rings like a top down law forcing citizens to do something that they may or may not want to do. Forget who said it but I guess you can get out of the carry by paying to the government a couple hundred a month? I know I sure as hell couldn't afford that. I'd have to buy a cheap ass pistol with dubious reliability to stay within the law. That brings up another question. How do you expect everyone to go out and buy a firearm. That's going to artificially drive up demand, driving up prices, and perhaps pricing some people out of the market. You could theoretically enforce price caps, but that is a problem in itself. Is the government going to provide everyone with a gun so they can stay within the law?
You got it in one Critter
You'd also have to buy a long arm, not just a pistol
btw
@CritterKiller
I'll send you the .docx...
That I refused to send to Leg for being a shithead.
So if liability insurance is intrinsically racist because minorities are poor, why is it *not* racist to allow a paid exemption from carry @Mandatory Carry ?
No, @Legalize.
@CritterKiller ***ASKED*** rather than ***TOLD ME*** what it said.
You didn't you just started lecturing ***AND*** insulting me from the start.
Mandatory Carry lecturing someone on lecturing and insulting. Precious.
that's the other problem I have. It's not one of law, it's that good people in the gun world like Mike Jones (youtube channel GarandThumb) ends every video with a plea for his audience to get training. That problem is gonna be multiplied 100x if this passed. The beauty of the current state of affairs is the people who self select wanting to carry have a built in incentive to learn, practice, and get good training. And even with that most people are woefully underprepared
Ok, @A. Spader, ¿do you have a suggestion, or are you just making assumptions like Legalize did?
Here it comes... "you're a liar" in 3... 2...
I am NOT in favor of stopping anyone based on what they can afford but the fact of the matter is that something as mundane as a negligent discharge can kill someone
When you have an idea or legitimate critism, tag me.
Negligent discharge is largely caused by lack of finger discipline, mental fortitude, or being a retard and Mexican Carrying off their belt.
See, ¿@uncephalized? *I* can keep my word.
Mexican Carrying. Sounds oddly suspicious like someone we know.
the point I am making is that gun culture is largely existing within the counterculture right now, and if you force everyone (most people) to carry, there is going to be not only serious pushback but lowest common denominator mentality
So if liability insurance is intrinsically racist because minorities are poor, why is it *not* racist to allow a paid exemption from carry @Mandatory Carry ?
Eliminate the lowest common denominator.
I assume I'm unblocked now
cowardly liar
But yes, people are largely hesitant, ignorant, or don't care.
legally preventing someone from stuffing a hipoint down their pants to comply is not the same thing as being concerned that someone would do it
Unfortunately.
My roommate who is military but grunt status has been known to do that shit on his back.
Which I give him fair criticism every single day.
my classmates are watching netflix during class and then wondering why they f--- up on the exam. I do not want them to spend 10 minutes online finding the cheapest metal machine containing tiny explosions and then waltzing around near me
again, that is NOT to say they should be legally barred from doing so
but when crafting legislation it is our responsibility to consider unintended consequences
