So I did some research
Its possible the guy was legal the whole time, but it would require a huge level of lawyer fuckery
Getting expelled in 2012 would mean he would have to immediately apply for another visa, either an H1B or some other work visa
or get married but there's no evidence he was married from what I can see.
I'm guessing he heard you can get status by serving in the armed services but you HAVE to be a legal resident so he somehow maintained legal status between 2012 and 2015
at that point he's probably eligible for a green card somehow
watching Sargon's video on the Dalai Lama and it got me thinking about the DL's stance, train them then return them, seems like probably a very good option if they're fleeing shitholes why not teach them the skills to improve their home countries
Proof they can learn pls
something the west could do is take on a quote of people from a country to train in exchange for investment in their countries or in exchange for potential trade deals, not just help them fix their own countries but get them on the same side and potentially make money with future trade partners
focusing especially on engineers
A commie dictatorship would see that as subversion via treaty or something
i think it's a good compromise between the extremes of open borders and isolationism
then they can simply fuck off then
If you could make the concept work, it's a great leap forward
it's also something the west could offer countries in Africa to serve as an alternative to chinese influence
it could also be used for training police forces and even military for these countries helping them become more stable
I hate agreeing with the Dalai Lama...
Kony had the right idea then some naked fruit went and ruined it
@Lord Zedd your still making an assumption that the worlds problems are owned by america
I wouldn't even pilot the idea there
but it'
s better to have trade partners than dependents seems like this is a way to potentially turn the latter into the former
Okay, sorry i was overly specific. Your assuming a stable countries owes it to a unstable country to improve their situation
no i'm not
I'm assuming that it's better for everyone to have more stable countries
less need for migration then
no need for aid
less need for military
It has never worked before
You dont think buying peace has been attempted
it's not buying peace
So whats in it for the stable country?
it's investing in the future of other countries and it has worked, it's an extension of the US' military philosophy
turn enemies into friends
Japan, Vietnam
You want to help the third world, stop farming subsidies
The west has kept the third world poor delibertly by protectionist policies that actually increase production costs
some western countries already implement the idea on a very small scale, I'm thinking it could be expanded on with a bit more quid pro quo involved
Japan wasnt cheap
