But for some reason, if you have it turn on with a schedule (made with the yeelight app), it may fail to turn on if firewalled

So yeah you lose some functionality

Though if you have LAN control, you can just do all that with a cron

Thanks lads. I had a GE set of bulbs that would only work by phoning home. Servers went down many times and i wouldn't be able to turn the lights on. Many such cases.
