Sacred is sacred.

2019-01-30 22:47:47 UTC

INherent is inherent.

2019-01-30 22:47:52 UTC

"you're assuming my position"

2019-01-30 22:47:54 UTC

ffs I hate it when people weasel.

2019-01-30 22:48:06 UTC

no, he was asking a question.

2019-01-30 22:48:14 UTC

pardon... So 'someone' can believe that a human life is sacred, but 'someone' can also believe it is not sacred?

2019-01-30 22:48:31 UTC

snow infamously slows down the great parcel migration

2019-01-30 22:48:51 UTC

I think you shoul dbe more aware of the ethical and religious use of sacred, and also of inherent in terms of philosophy.

2019-01-30 22:48:55 UTC

there is obviously a continuum where you have life-is-sacred pro-lifers on the edge and limited-case pro-lifers further down the line

2019-01-30 22:49:01 UTC

Inherent implies that whether you are there, or not, it still is.

2019-01-30 22:49:23 UTC

And I am arguing that is cognitive disonance, or a lack of proper word usage.

2019-01-30 22:49:30 UTC

absolutely not

2019-01-30 22:49:38 UTC

Obviously so.

2019-01-30 22:49:58 UTC

When a tree falls in a forest, and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?

2019-01-30 22:50:08 UTC

Soyboy cucks: Dunno.
Science: YES YOU MORONS

2019-01-30 22:51:19 UTC

pro-lifers don't necessarily believe life is sacred. they simply recognize the rights we afford to beings who come into the world

2019-01-30 22:51:46 UTC

that's actually bullshit.

2019-01-30 22:52:06 UTC
2019-01-30 22:52:10 UTC

I never said they did.

2019-01-30 22:52:12 UTC

look are you guys incapable of noticing that there are many ways to take the pro-life position? it's not a monolith

2019-01-30 22:52:20 UTC

i haven't ever seen a prolifer ever claim to not care about the sanctity of life.

2019-01-30 22:52:28 UTC

You're incapable of separating an ethical argument from a personal stance.

2019-01-30 22:52:34 UTC

^

2019-01-30 22:52:46 UTC

That is anecdotal.

2019-01-30 22:52:51 UTC

For both of you.

2019-01-30 22:53:00 UTC

unrelated but everytime I read prolifer, it read it as in the beginning of proliferate

2019-01-30 22:53:00 UTC

i agree

2019-01-30 22:53:02 UTC

what's anecdotal?

2019-01-30 22:53:37 UTC

I have argued that *some* argue absolute sacredness of life, and others do not... Those that do not have cognitive dissonance. At least the absolute sacred people are against capital punishment and/or lethal self defense when pressured.

2019-01-30 22:53:45 UTC

you're a prolifer? dang, I'm only an amateurlifer

2019-01-30 22:53:58 UTC

better than a journeymanlifer

2019-01-30 22:54:07 UTC

and i'm here telling you that's a false dichotomy

2019-01-30 22:54:39 UTC

@Malign anecdotal : based on or consisting of reports or observations of usually unscientific observers

2019-01-30 22:54:52 UTC

How is that a false dichotomy?

2019-01-30 22:55:05 UTC

You're going to have to argue against the basic understanding of the word 'sacred'

2019-01-30 22:55:21 UTC

sa·credDictionary result for sacred
/ˈsākrəd/Submit
adjective
connected with God (or the gods) or dedicated to a religious purpose and so deserving veneration.

2019-01-30 22:55:31 UTC

because i can fulfil every qualification of your 1st group without giving a shit about what's sacred

2019-01-30 22:55:48 UTC

Then my argument isn't inherently directed at you, now is it?

2019-01-30 22:55:49 UTC

then you would be venerating the sanctiy of life.

2019-01-30 22:56:10 UTC

You took offense where you shouldn't because you don't understand the nature of the statement you're arguing against.
