that's actually bullshit.
I never said they did.
look are you guys incapable of noticing that there are many ways to take the pro-life position? it's not a monolith
i haven't ever seen a prolifer ever claim to not care about the sanctity of life.
You're incapable of separating an ethical argument from a personal stance.
^
That is anecdotal.
For both of you.
unrelated but everytime I read prolifer, it read it as in the beginning of proliferate
i agree
what's anecdotal?
I have argued that *some* argue absolute sacredness of life, and others do not... Those that do not have cognitive dissonance. At least the absolute sacred people are against capital punishment and/or lethal self defense when pressured.
you're a prolifer? dang, I'm only an amateurlifer
better than a journeymanlifer
and i'm here telling you that's a false dichotomy
@Malign anecdotal : based on or consisting of reports or observations of usually unscientific observers
How is that a false dichotomy?
You're going to have to argue against the basic understanding of the word 'sacred'
sa·credDictionary result for sacred
/ˈsākrəd/Submit
adjective
connected with God (or the gods) or dedicated to a religious purpose and so deserving veneration.
because i can fulfil every qualification of your 1st group without giving a shit about what's sacred
Then my argument isn't inherently directed at you, now is it?
then you would be venerating the sanctiy of life.
You took offense where you shouldn't because you don't understand the nature of the statement you're arguing against.
i can be for the death penalty and pro-life and not have a care in the world about sanctity.
Sure, but you don't get to say it is due to sacredness of life.
nope. it's about rights and justice
Why lead with nope?
If that send sentence is what you believe, then we could have a discussion about that, but you say 'nope' implying you CAN claim sacredness of life while ending lives.
so, explain how you get to anti abortion and pro death penalty without having a belief in the sanctity of life.
'Daisies should be protected and venerated at all costs.'
*hacks off their flowers and stems and stuffs them in a glass jar to boil in the sun on my dinner table*
Ahhhhhhhhh sacred.
You're not a real gamer if you didn't beat
you get there by recognizing that certain behaviours shouldn't be legally tolerated. sanctity of life not required. if we populate our societies with criminals who are only ever imprisoned, or women who abort their children instead of raising families, we can agree that's probably a bad deal without relying on any religious language. many libertarians believe this, i'm surprised it's so alien in a server populated by liberalists
I agree, the sanctity of life is a shit argument. It is why my argument seeks to black-face anyone use it inconsistently.
why shouldn't they be tolerated?
I think you're just arguing this badly. I mean dang, I'm probably be completely on your side of this debate, but you're just not doing this well
Raven you gotta direct that or I will vodka bottle you.
