Or both?
I find true nihilism pretty sad.
to really contemplate meaninglessness
is quite painful
the condition of the heroin user
I wouldn't find it painful to be honest.
Well the human condition is painful
In what sense?
We suffer emotions, delusions, sickness, age, death
To adapt and evolve you'll need to suffer.
How else could we possibly experience the universe?
I don't see an alternative way of living. But at least most of us can experience the beauty of our universe and be happy.
well this is pretty central to a lot of philosophy, west and east
How do you deal with the suffering
how do you go about living this
its not an easy one
Isolation to be honest.
I mean I'm my own worst enemy and best friend so that's basically how I deal with it.
well psychoanalysis has a good take on this too
But with actual suffering I can't really say I deal with it.
Maybe it was just too much for me but I guess I just distract myself from pain since it just seems like the best thing to do.
And it works because then I can multitask and work on bettering myself while just ignoring the pain.
so the psychoanalytic view
would be that we must nurture our pain
And by bettering myself I dont mean by helping myself but I mean by trying to make myself a better person like a good person.
as part of us is still infantile
and it needs to be parented
and often our parents make mistakes
Which lead to all sorts of beliefs
and sometimes trauma
and delusions
there's a lot of consequences to such simple mistakes
Yes there are
so in this view
Imagine playing with clay

and that clay you use to make the world around you
the people you know
.etc
