So if our simulations go on and on and on and make simulations within themselves the more advanced we get the more of a chance we are in a simulation.

2018-05-14 06:57:04 UTC

How?

2018-05-14 06:57:33 UTC

If a different universe exists then it has different physics.

2018-05-14 06:57:40 UTC

Different laws to that universe.

2018-05-14 06:57:49 UTC

well a simulation is created from a computer and virtual programs

2018-05-14 06:58:40 UTC

And if a virtual program didnt exist in our reality then there would be a less of a chance we'd be in a simulation

2018-05-14 06:59:44 UTC

so if there are infinite realities then surely there is a reality where computers and by extension simulations cannot be created

2018-05-14 07:00:11 UTC

i mean of course this is possible

2018-05-14 07:00:33 UTC

however

2018-05-14 07:00:34 UTC

I know that's also a possibility obviously

2018-05-14 07:00:55 UTC

couldn't this also mean that there's a reality where simulations cannot be created, yet the reality itself is a simulation?

2018-05-14 07:01:19 UTC

Yes but our reality can make simulations so it doesnt matter.

2018-05-14 07:01:42 UTC

but couldn't there also be the possibility that we can create simulations, yet the reality itself is not a simulation?

2018-05-14 07:02:19 UTC

Yes of course but its a lower chance if we make simulations #5

2018-05-14 07:02:37 UTC

i mean there are infinite possibilities and statistically we are living in the 50% of realities that can sustain simulations

2018-05-14 07:02:44 UTC

and even lower chance if that simulation makes a simulation

2018-05-14 07:02:53 UTC

so then that leaves a 50% chance that we are actually living in a simulation

2018-05-14 07:02:55 UTC

therefore

2018-05-14 07:03:11 UTC

being able to create a simulation doesn't correlate at all to the probability that we're living in one

2018-05-14 07:03:48 UTC

But what’s the point in thinking this way though

2018-05-14 07:03:53 UTC

Technically yeah but its still evidence that we live in a simulation.

2018-05-14 07:04:00 UTC

@koifish Zero fucking point

2018-05-14 07:04:08 UTC

yes there is none

2018-05-14 07:04:17 UTC

Because if you live in a simulation there's fuck all you can do

2018-05-14 07:04:33 UTC

so the discussion is pretty pointless tbh

2018-05-14 07:04:35 UTC

but fun

2018-05-14 07:04:58 UTC

Im fucking tired.

2018-05-14 07:05:02 UTC

Night.

2018-05-14 07:05:08 UTC

goodnight then

2018-05-14 07:05:16 UTC

you know this was quite fun

2018-05-14 11:27:44 UTC

@Brickiest Brick There is nothing to suggest that we are living in a simulation, especially when you look at the fact that it would be impossible for a machine to ever simulate a virtual reality of an endless universe that has to run an unimaginable amount of calculations in just a microsecond, (with some being extreme, that would take days just to solve.) and continue to expand at the same time.
