If a hangman is needed i'll volunteer <:shrug:349342983763656705>
I think Stricter Policing is the best solution for crime as a whole
i cannot subscribe to your position, i don't support the death penalty, and stricter policing in itself solves nothing
Death penalty should be bought back for: rape, pedophila, terrorism, and torture
To me those are crimes beyond the pale
It serves as a deterrence and ensures that those who commit crime don't commit it again
death penalty prevents reoffenders really well
I agree a political solution is needed, but policing is still required if one is to have a society
We should have longer sentences and the Death Penalty should be brought back
the public need trust in the justice system, so for a start, you need to bring back legal aid
then you need consistency in application of laws, and of sentences
Such as the death penalty <:SmugPepe:510408646807519233>
and then you need to have meaningful sentences, and not send non-violent or non-recidivist offenders to jail
I think the best solution is: non violent non repeat crimes= rehab, repeat non violent crimes= prison (3 strikes), violent crimes= prison, repeat violent crime= prison to life sentence, crimes designed to cause undue suffering (rape, pedophila, terrorism, torture)= death penalty
Also legalise prostitution, drugs, and gun ownership
I don't want plant smokers in prison, I want violent pricks in prison <:shrug:349342983763656705>
Also, legalize killing people in self defense, which also entails people maliciously blowing vape in your face.
most recent poll i can find shows 48% support reintroducing the death penalty
down from historically being mostly in favour
We can reimplement it anyway
This is bad, real bad
Bring it back rn
Why don't we just use it for Non-Violent crime too, Think about all the money we could save on prisons
Because you want to as best as possible keep non violent offenders out of jail
it is proven in many studies that minor crimes going to jail tend to swirl downwards into serious crime later
So the focus wants to be on rehabilitation to them but only to a point, if they keep doing it then they have to be sent away
No, only for the most serious of crimes
But Storin do you have any studies showing the death penalty works to reduce crime. Cus I'm not seeing any

Terrorists should be put to death
Death penalty in and of itself will never reduce crime, even knowing the possible outcome some people will still take that chance, however it does reduce repeat offenders (for obvious reasons) and says that there are crimes that you do take absolutely seriously
not only that but as a taxpayer I don't want my taxes to go to keep certain people fed and alive in "humane conditions" for the rest of their natural life after committing those kinds of crimes
Death penalty for mass murderers and terrorists tbh
and what of the other argument you'll hear against it - that you will invariably kill innocent people sooner or later
Death penalty for those who have an abortion <:powerful:595334910764515338>
There has to be arbitrary line we draw in the sand that says when you go over this line you have gone to far, and I personally think rape, pedophilia, torture, and terrorism meets that mark
See those crimes are not necessarily about murder, they are about control, power, fear, and ruining someone elses life (and perhaps those around them) forever more
@Crafty Death penalty reduces reoffending by 100%
the argument you will kill innocents is both weak and childish if im being honest
The best argument agains it is burden of proof problems.
