ok

2019-10-26 00:03:08 UTC

it’s not gonna be replaced

2019-10-26 00:14:20 UTC

Unless there is a problem with the polymer ammunition

2019-10-26 00:14:27 UTC

Its gonna replace it

2019-10-26 00:15:10 UTC

if it’s replaced it won’t last

2019-10-26 00:15:24 UTC

bullpulp design is a gimmick at best

2019-10-26 00:16:47 UTC

Eh, the US army was experimenting with bullpup in the middle east, few month (or weeks) before this

2019-10-26 00:17:59 UTC

the ar15 system is honestly a perfect design for the military, i don’t see any significant change coming any time soon

2019-10-26 00:50:03 UTC

The ar15 cant be converted to 6.8mm

2019-10-26 01:25:56 UTC

who needs 6.8mm

2019-10-26 03:09:05 UTC

The US military

2019-10-26 03:10:55 UTC

"markedly better than anything else in inventory, especially considering our strategic resource reserves"

2019-10-26 04:15:10 UTC

@Pirate Headcrab It’s not a gimik. It gives a shorter overall length with a longer barrel length, making it a hell of a lot more versatile when it comes to range.

2019-10-26 04:16:18 UTC

@Asdrubal In fairness Sig Sauer also has something in the running.

2019-10-26 04:18:03 UTC

Just hope they don’t pick the dumpster fire that is the Textron offering.

2019-10-26 04:18:18 UTC

It’s got a fucking **nub**

2019-10-26 04:44:03 UTC

I know why bullpulps exist

2019-10-26 04:44:27 UTC

But its not as practical for field operations, its good for making accurate rifles but not much else

2019-10-26 04:45:43 UTC

If it was just for a sniper then it would make sense, the most accurate rifle ever is a bullpulp iirc

2019-10-26 07:29:00 UTC

@Pirate Headcrab Why not? When it comes to field operations you can go from a mountain to a cave or mudhut in seconds. That extra reach with a shorter length can matter.

2019-10-26 13:49:48 UTC

Yeah tbh

2019-10-26 13:49:58 UTC

All the other contracts are fucking shit

2019-10-26 13:50:21 UTC

Trying to get the futuristic aesthetic of the XM8 but failing horribly

2019-10-26 15:00:44 UTC

time for the US to get its own version of the SA80

2019-10-26 15:03:03 UTC

<:lmao:591182326013100034>

2019-10-26 20:27:23 UTC

Yay, time to get the burger civil servant

2019-10-26 20:28:30 UTC

What does this have over the standard m4 platform? What does it imrove, because it certainly doesn't *look* better

2019-10-26 20:48:40 UTC

Honestly there isnt much you can improve on the ar platform beyond ergonomics, which bullpulp is absoloutely worse with

2019-10-26 21:57:41 UTC

The US is more interested in a change of caliber than platform

2019-10-26 22:13:22 UTC

You can make ar/m4s that use different calibres. The 6.8mm is very comparable to 5.56/.223

2019-10-27 12:27:27 UTC

@Pirate Headcrab You know, or the AUG.

2019-10-27 14:04:58 UTC

6.8mm is more similar to .270 win than 5.56

2019-10-27 15:16:26 UTC

It's still similar

2019-10-27 15:21:46 UTC

Similar bullet diameter /= similar round

2019-10-27 16:46:03 UTC

I think I may be too autistic about my proposal for universal health care

2019-10-27 16:46:42 UTC

@---- got proof of the plans existence before the Nuremberg Trials?

@Asdrubal tl;dw

2019-10-29 04:23:09 UTC

It's just him saying the idea of human rights is too western and forced
