Wdym
There was a group of Americans that went to hunt em
This is what the US army want to replace the M16/M4 with, and its fucking disgusting
ok
it’s not gonna be replaced
Unless there is a problem with the polymer ammunition
Its gonna replace it
if it’s replaced it won’t last
bullpulp design is a gimmick at best
Eh, the US army was experimenting with bullpup in the middle east, few month (or weeks) before this
the ar15 system is honestly a perfect design for the military, i don’t see any significant change coming any time soon
The ar15 cant be converted to 6.8mm
who needs 6.8mm
The US military
"markedly better than anything else in inventory, especially considering our strategic resource reserves"
@Pirate Headcrab It’s not a gimik. It gives a shorter overall length with a longer barrel length, making it a hell of a lot more versatile when it comes to range.
Just hope they don’t pick the dumpster fire that is the Textron offering.
It’s got a fucking **nub**
I know why bullpulps exist
But its not as practical for field operations, its good for making accurate rifles but not much else
If it was just for a sniper then it would make sense, the most accurate rifle ever is a bullpulp iirc
@Pirate Headcrab Why not? When it comes to field operations you can go from a mountain to a cave or mudhut in seconds. That extra reach with a shorter length can matter.
Yeah tbh
All the other contracts are fucking shit
Trying to get the futuristic aesthetic of the XM8 but failing horribly
time for the US to get its own version of the SA80
<:lmao:591182326013100034>
Yay, time to get the burger civil servant
What does this have over the standard m4 platform? What does it imrove, because it certainly doesn't *look* better
Honestly there isnt much you can improve on the ar platform beyond ergonomics, which bullpulp is absoloutely worse with
The US is more interested in a change of caliber than platform
You can make ar/m4s that use different calibres. The 6.8mm is very comparable to 5.56/.223
@Pirate Headcrab You know, or the AUG.
6.8mm is more similar to .270 win than 5.56
It's still similar
Similar bullet diameter /= similar round
I think I may be too autistic about my proposal for universal health care
