however we can assume that high heritability on things such as
feminism, gay rights, immigration etc will correlate heavily with religion

its not unreasonable to assume that since many other beliefs are heritable that others can or will also be heritable

there is definitely overlap
that's making a false assumption that they're opposed to abortion because of their religion
Your argument would hold water if
a. people of the same religion held the same political opinions the vast majority of the time on a wide array of topics
and
b. both religion and politics were material concepts
