2019-11-28 18:26:19 UTC

abt speaking a demons name

2019-11-28 18:26:30 UTC

it just attracts bad mojo

2019-11-28 18:28:33 UTC

Did you read any of the conversation after he said that? 🤔

2019-11-28 18:29:19 UTC

yea i did

2019-11-28 18:29:30 UTC

like b4 i posted that

2019-11-28 18:29:46 UTC

i was gon for awhile but i just wanted to add that in

2019-11-28 18:30:16 UTC

So do you think "bad mojo" is an external or internal consequence?

2019-11-28 18:32:01 UTC

My answer in tldr to the convo above is I'm not really sure. If the result is the same did it really matter if it was external or internal? Maybe it does matter, because the implications of it being external are scary, but so is it being completely internal

2019-11-28 18:32:52 UTC

@Osteos eh prolly external

2019-11-28 18:33:15 UTC

if uve summoned a demon and been in their prescence u prolly know what i mean

2019-11-28 18:33:30 UTC

the energy they exude just sorta naturally causes you anxiety

2019-11-28 18:34:27 UTC

Have you considered that it causes you anxiety because you give meaning to it 🤔

2019-11-28 18:34:32 UTC

esp coming from the higher level ones

2019-11-28 18:34:54 UTC

yea i have

2019-11-28 18:34:59 UTC

but demons r powerful

2019-11-28 18:35:05 UTC

Have you really 🤔

2019-11-28 18:35:06 UTC

they can affect ur mental state in a lotta ways

2019-11-28 18:35:16 UTC

really really

2019-11-28 18:36:55 UTC

Like, for another example. You held a ritual for some diety or god or whatever, and you asked said entity to give you more confidence. And lo and behold after this ritual you have more confidence! There's two possibilies l

1. This entity actually gave you more confidence through his divine powers
2. You think this entity gave you more confidence so you start to act more confident, without any external factors

If the result was the same, does it really matter if the force was external or internal?

2019-11-28 18:37:43 UTC

Why does it affect your mental state? Could it be because your thoughts and the actions you take produce a phsycological response that then causes those feelings, regardless of whether anything was actually summoned or not? 🤔

2019-11-28 18:38:45 UTC

@Diadact it does, because if it's an internal process, then you get people saying that demons exist when they don't 🤔

2019-11-28 18:39:28 UTC

Right, but there really is no way to absolutely prove they exist without some Hollywood shit happening like stuff being thrown around a room or whatever

2019-11-28 18:39:39 UTC

Next thing you know, you've conquered the middle east and have waged seven holy wars

2019-11-28 18:40:07 UTC

hold up ill answer ur question but i gotta read all that text first lol

2019-11-28 18:41:08 UTC

@Osteos no theyre just projecting a different type of energy

2019-11-28 18:41:17 UTC

one thats more unsettling

2019-11-28 18:41:31 UTC

but you get used to it after awhile

2019-11-28 18:41:49 UTC

@Diadact i dont know

2019-11-28 18:42:12 UTC

There's also the answer in between, that demons and such don't exist but to unlock the part if your brain that can effect physical things, you have to kind of *believe* that you are having outside help.

The human mind is a strange thing

2019-11-28 18:42:30 UTC

You could definitely prove on at least some level the existence of outside forces affecting reality. Let's say you make a pact for luck or whatever, you could then very easily objectively prove whether you're beating the odds consistently, in a way that isn't explainable by anything else. Go flip a coin a couple thousand times, if they all land on heads something is clearly going on

2019-11-28 18:43:05 UTC

That never happens, of course, but the process is there

2019-11-28 18:43:16 UTC

@Diadact so wait youre saying you have to have an open mind for spirits to affect you n shit?

2019-11-28 18:43:25 UTC

in my exp thats not always the case

2019-11-28 18:43:38 UTC

True. Yet sometimes these things do elude the very mechanisms of empiricism itself in some ways.

2019-11-28 18:43:44 UTC

@PugThug how could it not always be the case

2019-11-28 18:45:04 UTC

@PugThug no no, I'm saying that maybe there is no definite answer to if there are demons or not, and our mind is capable of doing fantastic things, and to break this sort of "limiter" we have naturally placed on ourselves, no doubt for the sake of sanity, you can pray, or preform a ritual, or meditate

2019-11-28 18:45:07 UTC

@kore_khthonia there are claimed effects that are less quantifiable sure, but there are always things that can be done to provide proof, one way or another

2019-11-28 18:45:52 UTC

@Diadact yea man, u r one smart cookie, thats a cool anaylsis

2019-11-28 18:46:05 UTC

I think the design of rituals produces a phsychological effect on people, which can produce the feelings @PugThug describes
