how is personal property different than private property?
^
steven universe doesn't understand what subtlety is
otherwise it's a good show
You're the 8th person I've met that's made that joke :p
~~the name is not based on that~~
so...no difference then?
thanks ๐
๐ค how is that a useful distinction?
but..what if my property has both emotional value and I use it to run a business
but it's your property, why should it?
and that doesn't answer my question
that's an entirely different point
sure
maybe a better way to phrase it would be, why do I own the business, and the product it produces, but not the means to produce it
lol?
~~just answer his question he's not gonna stop~~
yeah
well you can still send it
you'll just be arrested
so you still own it in the sense that nothing stops you from sending it
I still don't know
I don't think so
๐ค
๐ค
earn or own? @G-Windows 69
timmy the farmer surely knows the best way for timmy the car manufacturer to distribute his cars
well when your currency could go from having value to being fuel for the cooking fire you wouldn't save either
๐จ ommunism
I do love me some homogenization
deep
what the fuck is a sage
oh no universal healthcare, how scary
<:que:619647864817057832>
nobody claimed it had to be the best education <:smugpepe:619749634402942998>
gonna need some proof for that one chief
Why did you go to college?
nevada
no health insurance?
that's very odd
What is a temporary plan or marketplace?
that's very strange nevada
I can't think of anything an insurance company wouldn't cover that isn't elective off the top of my head
under a marketplace plan at least
that's a weird graph
how does it define significant figures?
what company was your plan with?
oh a local company? That might explain the weird gaps in coverage if it was something odd like that
I bet the business chose some weird ass insurance company that offered cheap plans to cut back on costs
wow that's ridiculous
๐ค you have to charge for healthcare
...you do? You have to pay doctors somehow. Someone or something is getting charged at the end of the day
...?
The 500 dollars pays the hospital, who then pays the doctor
The doctor gets a lot more than 5 dollars from it
Doctors make more than 5 dollars an hour, and that's being generous saying a doctor sees a patient every hour ๐ค
they make a lot more than 20 dollars an hour lol
that's all assuming the doctor sees that many people that quickly, which is rarely the case
sure, but then how are you going to pay for the cost of running the hospital?
medical equipment is expensive as shit
equipment upkeep, and then there's all the employees that aren't doctors but are required for the hospital to run
xray techs, lab technicians, etc etc
the equipment is expensive because it's either difficult to manufacture, or has to be manufactured to standards that drive up price
that's the reality of it
It's not an excuse by any means
yes, and under capitalism, if your product costs more to produce then you have to charge more for it
take scalpels for instance. Not only does it have to be made with enough precision to cut correctly, but also has to be made out of the right kind of metal, and must be both be made sterile and packaged in a sterile way. all of that adds to production costs
the same goes for needles, bandages, and just about everything else a hospital uses
the medical industry is expensive both because it stands as business that people have no choice but to use, but also because the costs required to operate it are inherently high.
and also because hospitals can negotiate inflated prices with the insurance company that the consumer could never afford to pay
@Departure I'm a wage slave for the next 2 weeks, how do I survive
you seem a little jealous of billionaires ngl
like I know you want their money, but come on
this is a little over the top no?
@Meva do you know someone called Maxine?
should billionaires give away most of their money
Implementation is a serious issue
and also, you know, the fact that people that have worked hard and made smarter decisions than other people aren't exactly going to want to part with their hard earned money so timmy the wagie can get some money every month
just have to invent our robot overlords so we don't have to work anymore
then we can all be leeches guilt free!
I for one welcome the 2100's and the robot overlords
tfw you'll never be a cute anime girl
<:sadpepe:619648239020408852>
I support universal healthcare
we should just invade mexico already tbh
it's gonna happen eventually
might as well get it out of the way now
seriously though nevada do you know someone called Maxine
can I have cookies as well nevada
<:twinkie:619647999643222016>
If your great great grand uncle was president of mexico, I'd say that gives you a pretty good reason to run for Mexican President <:smugpepe:619749634402942998>
President Nevada
hmm
idk nevada, when was the last time you looked into the mirror and really searched for your reptilian self?
good effort nevada, but this time try making dragon ball gt noises
Hard to catch those tendencies when the stigmatization to talk about them is so high @Hali
You're not gonna want to talk about it when the general reaction from people is wanting you dead
@Bolsapryca the idea is that with intervention that could be prevented
But you can't intervene if nobody will talk about it
^exactly my point
