On a serious note, I feel neutral on Assange ... on the one hand, he exposed governemnt corruption, on the other, he commited treason.

In America treason is against the constitution, not against the government of the day. In fact, what he did is specifically protected under the constitution. If anyone is committing treason it's the government for their actions in subverting the constitution and the will of the people, not Assange for revealing what they've done.
