everyone

2019-09-14 23:28:50 UTC

so does welfare.

2019-09-14 23:29:00 UTC

agreed

2019-09-14 23:29:04 UTC

I get you, Timothas. That whole thing put a bad taste in my mouth that it seems more like economic populism for the sake of buying a voting block.

2019-09-14 23:29:05 UTC

UBI is fairly indistinguishable from wellfare

2019-09-14 23:29:11 UTC

It's treasure for the masses.

2019-09-14 23:29:13 UTC

atleast in terms of effect

2019-09-14 23:29:14 UTC

I dont like welfare, but UBI is the best welfare

2019-09-14 23:29:17 UTC

it exactly is welfare

2019-09-14 23:29:22 UTC

idk why you included it

2019-09-14 23:29:34 UTC

except it is universal

2019-09-14 23:29:39 UTC

free college and healthcare should be one thing, getting free money (welfare/UBI) are the same thing

2019-09-14 23:29:45 UTC

UBI is the most logical from of wellfare

but all of wellfare is retarded

2019-09-14 23:29:55 UTC

It isn't as if health care and public universities / public written debt is going away if we get UBI by the way.

2019-09-14 23:30:02 UTC

with college and healthcare people still need to do things

2019-09-14 23:30:04 UTC

well im exaggerating i shouldnt say all, but as a pathology its retarded

2019-09-14 23:30:08 UTC

with free money you dont need to do anything

2019-09-14 23:30:13 UTC

no

2019-09-14 23:30:16 UTC

@Kealor I'm not entirely against this idea, but I think there is potential for good, but we've got to be more discriminatory with it.

2019-09-14 23:30:17 UTC

with UBI

2019-09-14 23:30:19 UTC

Welfare should only be a Safety Net, not a lifestyle

2019-09-14 23:30:22 UTC

UBI, I think, would be better than those **if it replaced them**, so that it still benefits those who do work (unlike welfare), benefits those who dont get crippling sick (unlike free healthcare) and benefits those who dont go to college and get a job otherwise (unlike free college) @Boop / 브파 / C'thUwU

2019-09-14 23:30:23 UTC

you dont have central planning

2019-09-14 23:30:31 UTC

if anything

2019-09-14 23:30:35 UTC

Money for granny's heating bill? A little extra food money for a few months for a family not doing so well?

2019-09-14 23:30:37 UTC

UBI is the least close to socialism

2019-09-14 23:30:41 UTC

cuz there is no central planning

2019-09-14 23:30:48 UTC

@Jack of Trades yeah same, but people pursue it as an end goal rather than a last resort

2019-09-14 23:30:51 UTC

and thus individuals can use it in the most efficient of ways

2019-09-14 23:30:54 UTC

These are okay, but there's SO MUCH wealth to go around I don't think nearly as many people that have it, need it.

2019-09-14 23:30:57 UTC

that's just #capitalism bby

2019-09-14 23:30:58 UTC

@Kealor I'm aware

2019-09-14 23:31:19 UTC

@Coolitic I'm more Libertarian, but at least I know what the defenitions for Socialism are.

2019-09-14 23:31:23 UTC

I don't know if I support UBI at all, but I just think it'd be better than the other financial aid ideas that are in use currently

2019-09-14 23:31:28 UTC

@Kealor Not only no social planning, but no beuracracy on top of it.

2019-09-14 23:31:36 UTC

central planning is a central tenet of socialism

2019-09-14 23:31:37 UTC

u dolt

2019-09-14 23:31:46 UTC

Nope

2019-09-14 23:31:48 UTC

yes

2019-09-14 23:31:59 UTC

Stalinism and Most theories on Communism, yes

2019-09-14 23:32:00 UTC

you literally cannot have socialism w/o central planning
