Morrowind was my first, but I didn't get it because it was active yet still relied on dice-rolls.
Theres plenty of Retro style games coming out anyways
ChOsEn oNE
Ion fury
being a notable one
Played Skyrim, attacked a friendly NPC accidentally, can’t progress

oblivion was my first foray

so fondest memories there
I was playing modded Morrowind when Oblivion came out, and while the combat system was better they super-nerfed the dialogue and quest lines. Morrowind was almost like reading a book in parts, and it didn't hold your hand which was super fucking annoying at first, but you quickly came to appreciate it. It made every achievement feel more significant.
Granted oblivion was too but not really, Martin was, you were just his lackey
probably too lethargic to play it properly now

COERCE SIDE GAMES
@Arthur Grayborn It somehow managed to be outlandish in every aspect.
Also that interface was 👌 . No superfluous tabs, everything in one screen. Oblivion'S interface caused me several aneurysms by how clunky it was in comparison
you can kill your class mates during the First Mage guild lesson quest
That's part of the greatness of classic games.
run away to the undercroft
wait 12 hours
The not holding hand part.
If you want to waste a ton of time, this guy is funny as fuck
@Osbornia couldn’t run away sadly and I only had an Xbox 360 at the time
So tldr Skyrim was shit
Skyrim’s ui was boring and ugly as shit imo
It was great for emergent gameplay tho
But that scourge has been hard core in gaming for like a decade and a half, or something stupid like that.
Watch that entire series of Autism Cat that Anubis just linked. A lovely romp.
Then watch his Skyrim series.
I loved oblivion’s medieval style with the old parchment and shit
You wanna launch a fucking cabbage at someones head and kill them with it
done
Kinda why I fell in love with EVE back in the day with its learning cliff.
you wanna put buckets on peoples heads so you can steal

@Xaverius - Thing is, the outlandish parts of Morrowind are exactly the parts I like.
Every single system appears to be unique to Morrowind though, even after 20 fucking years. The only bad part about Morrowind is the combat system, which isn't a huge deal if you're not into the hack and slash bullshit.
Oblivion's medieval style was completely wrong
Anyway see ya!!
