@Jake the Exile Even then, we're not talking about whether they fear going to jail, we're talking about if the threat of punishment actually prevents the crime from happening. I can fear lots of things, but fear doesn't necessarily prevent me from doing them.

oy, trolling is fine, spamming is gay though. Cease

The point is to remove the criminal element from society not to remove the criminal element for the person, because removing it from the person requires alot more resources, time, and infrastructure

2019-08-10 00:09:09 UTC

Hahahaha

2019-08-10 00:09:12 UTC

Hahahahahaha

2019-08-10 00:09:16 UTC

Hahahahabahahababababababahahahah

2019-08-10 00:09:20 UTC

So retarded.

2019-08-10 00:09:30 UTC

@Raintola Then what you need is a second layer of correction, something that will be effective in changing the people whose mindset is "fuck da po-leese." But you can't say that law enforcement shouldn't exist because it doesn't stop SOME crime. There needs to be a negative reinforcement against bad behavior so more people aren't raised in a criminally permissive mindset to begin with.

2019-08-10 00:10:01 UTC

well it's also punitive justice for the wrong doer but you don't care about justice so why bother bringing that up

2019-08-10 00:10:17 UTC

Holy fuck, NinjaQuick whines about the Justice System like SMG whines about his foreskin

2019-08-10 00:10:19 UTC

@Jake the Exile that's more on the individual tho

2019-08-10 00:10:38 UTC

you can't change gang culture with government intervention

2019-08-10 00:10:45 UTC

Law enforcement presence is a greater deterrent of crime than prison.

2019-08-10 00:10:58 UTC

2019-08-10 00:11:07 UTC

@Muten Well then you try church intervention.

2019-08-10 00:11:07 UTC

The fear of getting caught.

2019-08-10 00:11:16 UTC

@Jake the Exile That would require the presumption that people ARE raised in such a mindset to begin with. I'm fairly certain most people don't think that a person's parents teach them that criminality is okay. Nevermind that would require psychoanalyzing every family unit in order to determine if they're teaching their kids "the right thing"

2019-08-10 00:11:20 UTC

Most people. Commit many crimes before being caught once.

2019-08-10 00:11:30 UTC

There's tons of police in the UK, and yet terrorist attacks still occur a LOT iirc

2019-08-10 00:11:38 UTC

Because that's an outlier.

2019-08-10 00:11:45 UTC

suuuuuure it fucking is

2019-08-10 00:11:48 UTC

France?

2019-08-10 00:11:49 UTC

Cases where the individual dies in the act

2019-08-10 00:11:56 UTC

Or plans on dying.

2019-08-10 00:12:01 UTC

Are very different

2019-08-10 00:12:02 UTC

@NinjaQuick The UK is an outlier based on what, exactly?

2019-08-10 00:12:03 UTC

@Raintola Well you tell me then. Where does "fuck the police" come from?

2019-08-10 00:12:14 UTC

lol

2019-08-10 00:12:19 UTC

why waste money feeding druggies

2019-08-10 00:12:22 UTC

Most crimes are opportunity.

2019-08-10 00:12:24 UTC

just fine the shit out of them

2019-08-10 00:12:37 UTC

@Raintola well there's evidence to point to black mothers teaching their kids to stay away from police and the attitude around the inner cities of america to be very anti police

2019-08-10 00:12:41 UTC

@Jake the Exile The same place "fuck the church" comes from in people raised in a religious home. They come to that conclusion on their own.

2019-08-10 00:12:42 UTC

Which causes crime

2019-08-10 00:12:50 UTC

The person decides the benefit of committing the crime outweigh the risk of being caught.
