the only inherent similarities between the two is a rejection of liberalism and its tenets

2019-07-24 14:43:27 UTC

And totalitarianism.

2019-07-24 14:43:36 UTC

And the nationalization of industry, and the directed attacks at a specific group for more available power, and the union setups, and the welfare, etc.

2019-07-24 14:43:39 UTC

antifa types tend to be anarchists

2019-07-24 14:43:45 UTC

ie not totalitarian

2019-07-24 14:44:34 UTC

Anarchists... who violently prevent people's speech

2019-07-24 14:44:38 UTC

yeah

2019-07-24 14:44:58 UTC

Sounds like authoritarianism, not anarchism

2019-07-24 14:45:19 UTC

how are they mutually exclusive

2019-07-24 14:45:28 UTC

They literally are, by definition

2019-07-24 14:45:33 UTC

If you’re going to do a world revolution in which you forcefully wean everyone off of private property and forcefully “re-educate” dissenters you’re a totalitarian. Even if afterward you want a free society.

2019-07-24 14:45:36 UTC

Anarchy is freedom and going against the media and those with power. Antifa is supported by the media and the powerful.

2019-07-24 14:45:46 UTC

Liberals tend to be exactly the same as any zealot for any other ideology. They think that it's either their way, or it's a part of the amorphous blob of other/evil that is all equivalent with itself. The difference between the Liberal and the non-Liberal is that this sort of attitude is the purview of non-Liberal zealots only (for the most part), on the other hand all Liberals think this way.

I'm not sure weather it's just because it's the dominant ideology in public debate or weather it's something inherent about Liberalism that makes it so.

2019-07-24 14:45:52 UTC

what does that even have to do with totalitarianism drywall

2019-07-24 14:47:00 UTC

The system is all encompassing. No dissent is allowed. The ideology requires all of the population to follow it exclusively.

2019-07-24 14:47:22 UTC

Actions speak louder than words. If you say one thing, but act the opposite, then you're the opposite of what you say.

2019-07-24 14:47:51 UTC

A liberal who acts authoritarian is an authoritarian

2019-07-24 14:47:56 UTC

Therefore no longer a liberal

2019-07-24 14:48:00 UTC

That being said not all ancoms are totalitarian, but the Antifa types are.

2019-07-24 14:48:12 UTC

NoTrueLiberal

2019-07-24 14:48:39 UTC

Tho, is it authoritarian if they are not the state?
Basically anarchism without the non agression principle
_you might as well say savagery at that point tho_

2019-07-24 14:48:57 UTC

(Authoritarianism is a gay concept that is totally devoid of meaning. All political systems are an imposition, including Liberalism)

2019-07-24 14:49:05 UTC

You can be a liberal with very few authoritarian beliefs and actions, but you can't be mostly authoritarian and still be called liberal

2019-07-24 14:50:29 UTC

Germany: wanted to take the banks, and be free from it in their country.
War was escalating.
When germany lost, they put the banks back in, no more war.

USA. and Britian.
Wanted to be free from britians control.
US won the war, and it started the bill of rights, and amendments.
No more war...

70+ years later... The anti-facist are back as Antifa.

2019-07-24 14:50:34 UTC

Liberals calling other ppl authoritarian are just blind to their own authoritarianism

2019-07-24 14:51:01 UTC

Which is kinda scary

2019-07-24 14:51:02 UTC

Wonder what happens next, because it isn't happening yet.

2019-07-24 14:51:08 UTC

No, tonight, it's more like temperature, where 'hot' is relative but there are absolutes (zero/anarchy, planck/nearly hive mind levels of control)

2019-07-24 14:51:39 UTC

You're free to call other systems bad, but calling them authoritarian specifically, is just wankery

2019-07-24 14:51:50 UTC

Is there a difference between the gestapo shooting you because you’re a political opponent and some communist militia shooting you as a political opponent. Regardless of what the ultimate goal is, some ancoms are prepared to use extreme levels of violence to forcefully convert everyone to communism.

2019-07-24 14:52:07 UTC

The reason for shooting you matters

2019-07-24 14:52:16 UTC

And it's common knowledge that communism killed millions.

2019-07-24 14:52:21 UTC

If I defend myself from you trying to kill me, then I'm just defending my liberties

2019-07-24 14:53:03 UTC

If in the process you die, that's on you, not on me. Big difference to authoritarian manslaughter.

2019-07-24 14:53:06 UTC

For believing in a different economic/political system. Hence my use of “political opponents”.

2019-07-24 14:53:08 UTC

What pisses me off the most is the lying cunt Timmermans and his buddies calling BJ demagogue, and then adding "Britain should fulfill the deal they agreed to" with second breath.

2019-07-24 14:53:27 UTC

It's only a difference if you believe in Liberalism @ETBrooD

2019-07-24 14:53:41 UTC

as if the parliament has no say on whether Britain agrees to something

2019-07-24 14:53:44 UTC

Because you just used Liberal reasoning to justify it

2019-07-24 14:54:06 UTC

If you kill someone for their political beliefs, then you're a murderer, and in that moment you're acting politically, so you're an authoritarian. Not just a regular murderer.

2019-07-24 14:54:15 UTC

'organisms defend themselves'
what politically charged reasoning!
