Jeremy gives me opportunist vibes, tbh.
Like, maybe to an extent he is wary of some of the left insanity, but he cares more about the clicks it will get him rather than the broader ramifications of the culture war.
He gives off the same vibe as like, the really lukewarm SJW types give off. Where they know that it gets them brownie points to point out bad behavior of the opposition, but he doesn't quite understand what the rhetoric or standards really are.
I suspect probably what it amounts to, is that he realized some legitimate concerns he expressed over the pozzing of gaming got him unpersoned from their cliques, so he's hoping to carve out a space in the anti-SJW clique instead, rather than try to beg forgiveness.
He reeks of secondhand soy, but he is not himself soy.
He's not bad enough that I think he's like, part of some conscious operation, but rather, I just don't really trust him. He's either at least a little insincere, or at least a little too stupid to really grasp what he's up against. Which makes him kind of a liability.
Probably his main redeeming feature is that he's not controversial enough to really give the counter-SJW's a particularly bad name. Most of what he's done that's a lie can generally be chalked up to not having done due diligence, because he's just really amateurish about covering news topics.

Will this likely raise prices across the board? Almost certainly, particularly in the immediate future. But without a cheap foreign supplier of goods, it encourages more domestic industry to fill that gap. The bigger danger is that, because immigration isn't being adequately addressed, those industries will probably be filled with cheap migrant labor, instead of significantly improving the demand for somewhat more expensive native workers. So, we have a painful period of adjustment where we replace the cheap chinese labor market with a cheap domestic migrant market.

The trade war with China is actually probably one of the less dumb things Trump has done, in the wide context of how things effect Americans. Isolated from other problems, it's something which can certainly be overcome.
Economic hardship is one of, if not the biggest voting issue
But in combination with other issues which aren't being addressed, it can be very bad for us.
