>war / peace cycle
when exactly have we made peace in this decade? its a 'war / minor drawdown in troops' cycle
Yeah I suppose you're right
War / peace cycle had a better ring to it tbh
guys, we cant use the word 'war' thats not PC, use 'military intervention' or 'peacekeeping' instead😏
the amount of places we've invaded without officially declaring war would make any number of emperors or dictators blush
Caesar, Hitler, Khosrau, Leonidas
you know what they say
kill em all and let god sort em out

@Jokerfaic
.... wow.... I've never been so conflicted
like, holy fuck, what a bad take by both of them
I mean, Tucker has the correct position, but that line is so cringe
I don't associate the Left with war tbh; it's a position that is held by Warhawks on both sides who get a raging erection from bombing people for no real reason
Because Murica
i mean
bombing muslims is prettyyy fun
even so, democrats are only banging war drums because of the "forsaken sovereignty" of the clintons
Bolton and neocons want war because its their shorthand for actual diplomacy
never heard of a leftist neocon
Why talk and meet an agreement with smelly Brown people when you can just bomb the shit out of them
Does the ME hate us b/c of Israel? Or do they hate us b/c we overthrew their systems of Government and replaced them with ours; which is incompatible with their religious and cultural values?
A bit of both, also the general loss of status and wealth in the ME after 1790s and since the seventies the resurgence of Islam and a wave of religious fervor caused by all the above.👍
The muslim world is in a bit of a identity crisis and solves it by doing what humans do best: Killing eachother
Good news: Islam is reforming and changing right now. The bad news: this Reformation, like the Christian one, is very fucking violent
eeeeexcept Iran was a functional democracy until we got there and wanted their oil. So, close, but no
We didn't actually get their oil and Iran was more or less fine until we pulled out
The current regime was put in to power after we left
after they revolted against our puppet
which seems to be a consistent pattern with our puppet dictators, looking also at Cuba
Well maybe the Pope should give the Vatican back to Italy
or maybe the world should stop caring about what a theocrat says
I'd say that as well but considering how much power he has
did the pope finish undertale yet
The U.S. didn't put in a puppet, the system was already a parlimentary monarchy, and we just removed a guy that took control via emergency powers, I.E. outside of democracy. The people of Iran overwhelmingly don't like their current governmeant and the group that took over, isn't really representative of the whole. It's just that power vaccumes tend to lead to worse leaders taking over, hence why we shouldn't have pulled out of Iran
