I just really like the idea that in a dnd world with heroes that saved the world, there can still be a party of "lesser heroes" with songs sung about them across the land, not because they saved the world from destruction, but because they saved their town from the local goblins, and the next town over, and the next

Their feats arent legendary, but they matter so much to those locals whose lives they saved. And the simple but effective world building and passing mention of whats going on in this "main plot" kinda makes up for the lack of a plot imo
