But there does need to be structure, objective rules that are seen to be obeyed. People need to be able to trust the system

2019-09-03 22:46:04 UTC

And at the moment they simply do not

2019-09-03 22:46:27 UTC

We shouldn't go all Ayn Rand with voluntaryism but we should have a very limited Government

2019-09-03 22:46:53 UTC

rather than saying "very limited", i would say "clearly delineated"

2019-09-03 22:47:03 UTC

Hoping you appreciate the difference

2019-09-03 22:47:15 UTC

i think it should just have limited power

2019-09-03 22:47:50 UTC

I would go for "clearly delineated" and "very limited"

2019-09-03 22:48:12 UTC

It really shouldn't interfere in the economy and should mainly just be responsible for policing and National Defence

2019-09-03 22:48:19 UTC

"very limited" is tacking on a preference for size/services provided

2019-09-03 22:48:32 UTC

sooo, when is Britain getting a written constitution?😆

2019-09-03 22:48:35 UTC

I think we should mainly have something along the lines of a Minarchist state

2019-09-03 22:48:42 UTC

I think we need "clearly delineated" first as a prequisite 🙂

2019-09-03 22:49:52 UTC

@Eccles far enough

2019-09-03 22:50:43 UTC

I'm actually fairly pro-public services, but i see it as something that can help bring together left and right - the demand for a clearly delineated government whose institutions can be trusted

2019-09-03 22:51:01 UTC

The State even existing is going to threaten Liberty so we should just give it minimun power to ensure that very limited liberty is lost

2019-09-03 22:51:18 UTC

The purpose of the state is to preserve Liberty

2019-09-03 22:51:28 UTC

(In a Liberal philosophy)

2019-09-03 22:51:35 UTC

The State is the main threat to Liberty

2019-09-03 22:51:45 UTC

Then your system of government is flawed

2019-09-03 22:51:49 UTC

Liberty wasn't a problem before the state because people could just do what they want

2019-09-03 22:52:06 UTC

The State reduces Liberty for the sake of order

2019-09-03 22:52:25 UTC

would you say that man, before the state, was fully free?

2019-09-03 22:52:28 UTC

The only way to increase Liberty is to decrease the role of the State

2019-09-03 22:52:41 UTC

all ancaps are hypocrites

2019-09-03 22:52:43 UTC

And vice verse the only threat to Liberty is the State playing a greater role

2019-09-03 22:52:49 UTC

the govt is literally just another corporation

2019-09-03 22:52:54 UTC

bruh what

2019-09-03 22:52:56 UTC

by every fucking definition of the word

2019-09-03 22:53:09 UTC

it was mutually agreed upon by a group of people

2019-09-03 22:53:12 UTC

@Αγωνιζῆς Yes they were, There were no laws and thus no restrictions on what we could do

2019-09-03 22:53:13 UTC

it has a set property

2019-09-03 22:53:17 UTC

does your government turn a profit for its investors?😂

2019-09-03 22:53:26 UTC

a corporation is not required to turn a profit

2019-09-03 22:53:29 UTC

retard

2019-09-03 22:53:54 UTC

the state sacrifices liberty to guarantee safety, some measure of safety is necessary in any stable society, it is up to us to determine how much.

2019-09-03 22:53:58 UTC

no

2019-09-03 22:54:07 UTC

the state sacrifices "liberty" for liberty

2019-09-03 22:54:24 UTC

the liberty of one individual shall not infringe upon another's

2019-09-03 22:54:40 UTC

else the system would be hypocritical and meaningless
