"Ruptly is live from outside Westminster Magistrates Court in London on Monday, October 21, as a hearing is held to determine whether Julian Assange can be released from prison.

Assange has been ordered to appear before the court in person. The 48-year old WikiLeaks' founder has been held in custody at Belmarsh prison in London since being dragged out of Ecuador’s embassy last April. He’s currently fighting extradition to the US where he may face up to 175 years in jail if convicted.

Assange supporters have called for a gathering outside the court."

@ETBrooD over here

2019-10-22 10:17:49 UTC

We should be in the debate channel actually

2019-10-22 10:18:19 UTC

I don't think this is debate worthy.

2019-10-22 10:18:23 UTC

It isn't heated enough.

2019-10-22 10:29:22 UTC

I don't usually post in here but I was just having a shower thought and figured I'd share - just how many of the social, political, economic and cultural problems that humanity is having (and has had for the past 100 years) can be traced back to Karl Marx?

2019-10-22 10:29:36 UTC

Seems like damn near every single one.

2019-10-22 10:29:47 UTC

What do you fellas think?

2019-10-22 10:32:13 UTC

Eh, maybe, a lot of issues are caused by human nature as well.

2019-10-22 10:32:25 UTC

Fractional reserve banking seems to have caused a lot as well

2019-10-22 10:32:45 UTC

Yeah, I suppose if ol' Karl had never existed, there'd still be bad ideas from another source

2019-10-22 10:32:48 UTC

That too, Silent.

2019-10-22 10:33:31 UTC

Just boggles my mind a little bit how influential on the course of human history Marx has been

2019-10-22 11:38:34 UTC

I dont know id say that. Communism is at its root plutocracy, and those have been around forever.

2019-10-22 11:39:26 UTC

All Marx did was put a rational/humanitarian veneer over it.

2019-10-22 12:14:30 UTC

But plutocracy is highly unequal in all regards

2019-10-22 12:15:56 UTC

The mighty and the wealthy rule over the rest to maintain their power, and the common man has either legally no voting rights, or effectively, since democracy gets undermined

2019-10-22 12:16:47 UTC

This is at odds with communism, or even with the pursuit of communism, in multiple ways

2019-10-22 12:17:34 UTC

China is actually an example of this, when people claim it's communist they basically show they don't understand what communism is

2019-10-22 12:18:23 UTC

Only in name the CCP claims to be communist, so yeah

2019-10-22 12:18:33 UTC

The PRC is certainly not communist

2019-10-22 12:18:53 UTC

But I digress

2019-10-22 12:37:06 UTC

i realize until the other day that the number of members of PRC is 90million people, so 1 in 16 citizens are part of the party.

2019-10-22 12:37:48 UTC

I think you mean the CCP

2019-10-22 12:38:06 UTC

yep, CCP

2019-10-22 12:38:17 UTC

Aight, cause the PRC is just China

2019-10-22 12:38:42 UTC

yea was writing it in a different way and dident fix it up

2019-10-22 12:38:48 UTC

oh ok

2019-10-22 12:39:43 UTC

Yeah I hardly even try to understand China, it's so twisted and complicated. Even Chinese people don't understand much of it.

2019-10-22 12:40:00 UTC

So much secrecy by the CCP

2019-10-22 12:41:45 UTC

haha probably intentionally, been watching china uncensored, its insane

2019-10-23 00:47:44 UTC

glorious; was watching Arch's latest video, where he points out a Paradox forum admin locking a thread and not having it unlocked 50+ hours later; and guess what? Im in a discord with that admin, and a bunch of moderators, so what do i do? I link the video and call him out 😄

2019-10-23 11:46:41 UTC

Did you get kicked?
