There was no Great Depression, yet living conditions were just as bad

2017-05-24 03:42:14 UTC

because socialism, unlike capitalism, is not subject to boom/bust cycles and macroeconomic instability.

2017-05-24 03:42:26 UTC

>just as bad

2017-05-24 03:42:29 UTC

Stalin should not be considered as a good role model

2017-05-24 03:42:29 UTC

That's not true at all either

2017-05-24 03:42:34 UTC

that's completely untrue

2017-05-24 03:42:42 UTC

in fact he should be thought of as a destroyer of socialism

2017-05-24 03:42:45 UTC

2017-05-24 03:42:53 UTC

living conditions relative to the times were fantastic especially compared to the living conditions during the great depression

2017-05-24 03:42:53 UTC

what would Lenin have thought of Stalin becoming dictator?

2017-05-24 03:43:03 UTC

In fact he specifically said he did not want that

2017-05-24 03:43:04 UTC

"at least it wasnt trotsky"

2017-05-24 03:43:04 UTC

Temporarily Inconvenienced Stalins

2017-05-24 03:43:07 UTC

probably

2017-05-24 03:43:11 UTC

😜

2017-05-24 03:43:36 UTC

communism cannot happen without industrialization first

2017-05-24 03:43:45 UTC

@OF-8 google "winston churchill bengal famine"

2017-05-24 03:43:45 UTC

Stalin tried to rapidly industrialize, at the cost of what?

2017-05-24 03:44:06 UTC

You tell me, since you seem to be so sure of it.

2017-05-24 03:44:09 UTC

communism has always been meant to serve the people, not the state

2017-05-24 03:44:14 UTC

state worship is fascism

2017-05-24 03:44:19 UTC

@OF-8 Collectivism is the opposite of Individualism. Unlike temporarily embarrassed millionaires, socialists have no ambition to be dictators.

2017-05-24 03:44:22 UTC

The state serves the people under the DotP.

2017-05-24 03:44:22 UTC

the people were not served under Stalin

2017-05-24 03:44:24 UTC

yeah, the indians werent exacly 'people' to the british

2017-05-24 03:44:26 UTC

Yes they were.

2017-05-24 03:44:34 UTC

typical economic warfare

2017-05-24 03:44:35 UTC

that's why so many Ukranians starved

2017-05-24 03:44:39 UTC

@Sorghagtani Beki At the price of what?

2017-05-24 03:45:22 UTC

partitioning of poland

2017-05-24 03:45:23 UTC

@OF-8 The point is that a totally preventable famine happened a decade after the holodomor under Churchill and his colonization and exploitation over India. he caused it. Under Stalin famines were completely eradicated by the policies of the communist party.

2017-05-24 03:45:26 UTC

So, you're going to tell me the existence of kulaks, droughts, crops being burned and cattle being killed didn't happen and it was all either deliberate or a bureaucratic error?

2017-05-24 03:45:32 UTC

he is nothing but a man working for his own image

2017-05-24 03:45:33 UTC

>partitioning of poland

2017-05-24 03:45:35 UTC

he rules through a character

2017-05-24 03:45:38 UTC

Oh yes, I'm sure the Polish jews were so sad they were saved from concentration camps by the soviet union.

2017-05-24 03:45:42 UTC

@Deleted User this is about to happen again in india, btw

2017-05-24 03:45:46 UTC

To get individual realisation, first you need collective realisation.

2017-05-24 03:45:49 UTC

You haven't read the treaty

2017-05-24 03:46:05 UTC

Yes, I'm sure that the Polish really enjoyed having the soviets form an agreement with the Nazis to take half the country

2017-05-24 03:46:06 UTC

Right, well in case you didnt notice the Holodomor was the *last* famine to strike the Soviet Union, ever.
