Maky
Toweri you mean this
yeah
It's a novel but it explores what Huxley considered a utopia. Sort of the opposite of his "The brave new world".
wow
It's like a liberal paradise lol
Oh no
LOl
Kill it
It's not as bad as you think tho.
Huxley was a leftist
Oh wow
He explores how science and religion, work and leisure etc etc can be balanced and how cooperation rather than competition can lead to a healthy society. Psychedelics and psychology are a big part of it as well. Like how indoctrination, given that raising kids is always indoctrination in one way or another, can be useful ( as opposed to how indoctrination was used in the brave new wolrd). It's also a criticism of certain western attitudes and values and how they affect society. I should re-read it tbh but that's what I remember.
NatSoc>communism
Here me when I was a baby
Yo
Hello
I see that I missed a conversation about based Huxley. Shame.
Lol they named second Civ V add-on after his book, I wonder why
I'm curious too.
I don't believe utopias can exist, mind but I think it'd be possible to get close.
Or, at the very least, better than the dumpster fire known as modern civilization.
Oh god
I was in the huxley conversation
I still have to read that book.
It might help my arguments since I consider the world of Brave New World to be close to a utopia
mkay
So apparently Huxley was closer to modern regimes than Orwell? Or both were right?
