It wans't good, it gained you more
I guess I am in the minority, taking existential questions seriously. Maybe I am just an evolutionary failure, not humanity.
@Deleted User Sorry, what?
It's faith.
Faith is not rational
None of us are gonna really prove eachother wrong unles we follow the same faiht.
Even then, we may interperate the historical understanding there of or our holy books very differently
Don't you think that could possibly be the whole base upon organized superstitious beliefs?
Hoping that it's real?
No one but fedora atheists will discuss those types of points.
If it ain't true, then we die and go no where.
@Anglican I'll talk these points whatever bro
But even then, we did honorable things in this word to more widely improve.
Exactly
I'm not a fedora atheist
I don't know that God does not exist
That's all that matters nigga
If I don't know God doesn't exist, I'm not an atheist
@Americana - MD#3916 All? I disagree that it is 'all' that matters. I believe that the faith has inherent value, and it should actually matter more to you then out doing others in the material.
Atheism is the belief that God doesn't exist
Agnosticism and gnosticism relate to levels of belief and disbelief.
I am a gnostic theist/deist, **I know** there is some form of non-material existance.
But I am an agnostic to my own faith and other faiths because I can't truly be sure of it or myself.
I don't think non-material existence and atheism are incompatible
You'd be an agnostic atehist.
Not 100% sure, but I don't believe the mind is material
Otherwise free will can't exist
Not inherently, but there is a distinct difference between how atheists and theists/deists would see it.
Free will doesn't exist.
By purely material scientific methods, not really.
I'm not educated enough on philosophy to really have a debate about this
How do you know that God exists?
But... Listen to me when I say this with all my heart; the science can go choke a dick. There is much more then these atoms.
You realize science and materialism are two different things, right?
I am sure by strong, unyielding belief. Based upon universal absolutes like the golden ratio, order in a world which we have come to see infinite in lies.
Yeah, I know.
When I talk about science in the way of material... It's just different. I'll find a different word.
Materialism works fine.
