why would you support that
your already small wage will get smaller with more taxes
it's a false promise by corrupt politicians
@quiscalus I don't think that would be an issue when the laborer would be free to engage in meaningful work, and not have to sell their labor-power to an employer in order to engage in low-paying, overly-stressful work for long periods of time. It would also enable many, many people to not have to rely on government services deemed costly and inefficient.
I would prefer the state to organize workers to public works projects like making sure we all have clean water, or suitable housing, or other essential human needs
why would you trust the state to help you?
the "state" are just a bunch of beurocrats
I would prefer to see a society with 100% employment for the able bodied doing something to help their fellow man
they are just like business owners
they will do what's best for them
I think the important part is that the objective of the state is the will of the people and that democracy is an essential part in that
@quiscalus Well, it would be impossible to reach 100% full-employment. But every able-bodied individual has the right to work.
yes that is an important part
I think if you had the state having large scale work projects you could
just stop and think about it like this
if the state gave you a job, it's no different than working for an employer
except, you make less money
and pay more in taxes
just to make that money back
with companies they produce goods based off what is profitable which mainly meets the desires of individuals who already have money which I think is not very democratic, I think the state organization production based on the needs of the people would be better
which means less quality for practically everything
and that quality only decreases
less quality?
>soviet apartments
but I don't have any say in how things are done at work the boss owns it all but in government the state is made of representatives that we elect
fucking go away with your luxury soviet apartments lol
i mean, they are quite nice
The conservative American Enterprise Institute and Heritage Foundation did a study on this and concluded that federal employees make 14 to 22% more than their private-sector counterparts.
and they are free
and /cozy/
well that may be true, but i'm talking about on a large scale
federal jobs can work beside free market jobs
you get this for free
I don't think the state should be in charge of every good and service just what is human needs to make sure everyone gets their needs met no matter their level of income
if every business is nationalized and collectivized, your wages will plummet
inflation is inevitable
I think the issue with the USSR is that you have a dramatically undemocratic system
Real wages have remained stagnant since the 70s whereas productivity has risen drastically.
who needs elections when you got a guy like stalin?
