Even in the most primitive societies, prostitution exists.

2017-07-26 11:48:00 UTC

Several animal species practice prostitution.

2017-07-26 11:48:06 UTC

Your argument is just dumb, to be blunt.

2017-07-26 11:50:53 UTC

inb4 communism would be a utopia where everyone would have everything so there would be no prostitutes

2017-07-26 11:51:04 UTC

Even in this impossible system prostitution is still a service people would want.

2017-07-26 11:52:10 UTC

I don't see all prostitution as inherently negative. There's just conditions present in my country and others that make it less about human empowerment, and more about degrading.

2017-07-26 11:52:30 UTC

There are conditions present in any country, in any society, in any people that have ever existed, which made prostitution viable.

2017-07-26 11:52:38 UTC

Humans are always going to have sex, the primary concern should be whether their needs are met

2017-07-26 11:53:02 UTC

How does capitalism solve desire?

2017-07-26 11:53:04 UTC

I have yet to see a successful implementation of communism, so for now on all you have is "this is how it WILL be".

2017-07-26 11:53:15 UTC

…so long as women have any control over who they reproduce with, there will always be prostitution

2017-07-26 11:53:28 UTC

it is a biological weapon

2017-07-26 11:53:36 UTC

We've yet to see successful capitalism

2017-07-26 11:53:41 UTC

Xd

2017-07-26 11:53:58 UTC

Successful in the sense it isn't perfect in every way? No. We haven't seen successful capitalism.

2017-07-26 11:54:26 UTC

Levels of prosperity and individual freedoms unprecedented in human history? Yep. That's capitalism.

2017-07-26 11:54:46 UTC

Capitalism: being around the last 200 years makes us the only way to increase prospect

2017-07-26 11:54:51 UTC

What you define as "successful" becomes moot when you only define a communist utopia as successful.

2017-07-26 11:55:02 UTC

One that has never existed, I might add.

2017-07-26 11:55:24 UTC

Capitalism isn't a perfect system, but it's certainly successful. A lot more successful than any attempt at communism.

2017-07-26 11:55:41 UTC

A"capitalist" country didn't exist at the time people were throwing their Kings out

2017-07-26 11:56:15 UTC

Yes, it did. The establishment of the merchant class in the 1300's meant the abolishment of feudalism and the birth of capitalism before it was even established as an economic theory.

2017-07-26 11:56:24 UTC

You are very uneducated on this topic.

2017-07-26 11:56:36 UTC

Monarchism is not mutually exclusive with capitalism lmao

2017-07-26 11:56:59 UTC

We will very likely have a communist utopia once we obtain a massive robotic slave work force.

2017-07-26 11:57:34 UTC

Sounds great. I've yet to see it happen though.

2017-07-26 11:57:38 UTC

Or they'll just kill off the poor

2017-07-26 11:57:39 UTC

So for now it's empty theories and hot air.

2017-07-26 11:59:35 UTC

Can you try to look at it holistically? Firstly, forced prostitution is a byproduct of poverty, which is a byproduct of capitalism. I will concede that point to you. But every economic system in history, including any attempt at communism, has also had poverty and therefore forced prostitution.

2017-07-26 12:00:31 UTC

Poverty is a byproduct of the inherent inequality humanity has, and that capitalism exploits for the betterment of a society it exists in.

2017-07-26 12:00:58 UTC

People who are smart become entrepreneurs, people who aren't work for them. This is how it works in theory, and there are a bunch of factors in play that make that not always work, but for the most part it evens out.

2017-07-26 12:01:18 UTC

Naturally you will have poor people, just as in any system.

2017-07-26 12:01:32 UTC

You are an idealist to think you can fight poverty. Economically, a communist utopia makes no sense.

2017-07-26 12:01:44 UTC

The thing people tend to forget is that being poor in a capitalistic society beats being poor in any other society

2017-07-26 12:02:57 UTC

How exactly would labor needs be allocated in a stateless society?

2017-07-26 12:03:06 UTC

"muh democratic communes" <- This makes 0 fucking sense

2017-07-26 12:05:52 UTC

prostitution is unrelated to economy tbh, it's a biological tool women have to get ahead… even in a social or job related context, like sex for power

2017-07-26 12:06:13 UTC

not necessarily a product of any poverty

2017-07-26 12:06:18 UTC

I already explained that to him, but I'm not sure he was convinced. So I'm arguing from within his own framework.

2017-07-26 12:06:24 UTC

ah

2017-07-26 12:06:57 UTC

Is it possible to redpill a communist if red is the color of communism? 🤔
