@Zyzz youre better off purchasing a new laptop
I'm not sure it can be done, but I do know if you take it to the Apple store you will spend a ton get not a whole lot in return
@Deleted User my macbook works fine i just want to upgrade it so i can play vidya
so dont really want to spend the money on a new computer
Dude it's going to be easily 500 and you're not going to get much in the way of a performance bump. 500 is 1/3 of what's required for a good new laptop or an even desktop
ok i see
Anyone know how long it takes to upload a video to Bit Chute? Seems to be taking a while.
Rather - the upload was quick but it has said "your video is being processed" for a long time.
Hey everyone. New to this server. I just landed an entry level IT job in an Atlantic city hotel. Was hoping some of you may be able to recommend some literature to get up to speed on networking and general break-fixing know-how for a guy brand new to the field.
Your best bet is to get familiar with the workings of windows or Linux or whatever OS you guys are using, there are good books easily found on just about every OS you could think of, and other resources online. Learning the OS should be the first thing you do before going onto more complex stuff in the field.
Also just joined but to add onto what Ash said, the majority of small account hacks are done by combo lists and crackers, like what he said they gather usernames and passwords from stolen databases of whatever site they get into and try those user:pass on other sites, it works extremely well because most people cba to mix it up a bit from site to site. I used to have a really big list and could get a ton of Spotifys and Netflix's pretty fast
So mix up your usernames or even just passwords from site to site
If you're breached on an account with an original password then you should start worrying, usually means they specifically intended to get into your account for specific reasons, otherwise it's not that big of a deal if you don't have sensitive info on the account, just change your passwords.
My computer failed recently, black screen on startup. The monitor is able to display menus, but nothing from the computer. So far I've replaced the dvi cable, power supply, and motherboard. Should I just scrap the whole thing? Build is about 6-7 years old
@Deleted User are you running a high-end graphics card?
I have two Radeon 6870s in xfire
I had a 650w power supply previously, maybe I succeeded in killing both cards?
The motherboard video didn't work either, though.
Had something similar happen to me. Turned out it was the graphics cards. Maybe the motherboard is shot?
Curious anyone know how to increase internet connection upload and download speed for gaming. My stuff has been very laggy lately at 400-800 kbps
Usually that depends on the service plan you have from your internet provider
If you're using wireless and have an old router or are using a USB stick for your wireless connection, that could be a bottleneck.
Do you know what your ping is?
ranges from 30-40 to 120-400 when it lags bad. I use an ATT modem
@Serg CA hey it also varies based on what server you are playing on
like you are west coast, play on west coast servers to stay sub 30
if you end up on a euro server or east coast even can see it jump to 100
I've posted about this great internet privacy resource before, but they have updated it even better! https://ssd.eff.org/en
@Jimmy the Greek#6623 thanks i'll have to do some more research to find out
Anybody @here know webpack?
Let me know if you need anymore help
Enlighten me on the benefits of using webpack. The "core concepts" page isn't convincing me that it would be "worth it".
Anybody here use dirpy? I am trying to download a song and dirpy will only download the first 30 seconds or so. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or dirpy is defective
@here
@Why Tea same benefit, mostly of things like grunt or gulp afaik.. task automation, minify, test running, compactify, linting, etc.
@Dan iiii Interesting. So is the consensus that it's superior to the existing tools/techniques for minifying, compacting, linting, etc? Or just another way to do it that's popular at the moment? For context I work in concert with our Dev / DevOps team(s) and manage some custom development work / manage those devs. I have *some* influence with our core Dev team but decisions on what to use are from their leads / and department head. If something is better than what they're using now, me suggesting they try it can't hurt. My team and I do app tier stuff much more so than front-end development, but anything to help the team is worth looking at.
For more context my work is in the Security / Authentication & Authorization part of the stack/platform. Even more context, a couple of the biggest companies in the world use security code I and my team wrote and designed.
If anybody knows Webpack and would be willing to help me understand how to work with it, it would be much appreciated.
@everyone ^
